Welcome Letter from the President
On behalf of the faculty and staff, it is my pleasure to welcome you to Tiffin University. We are guided by our motto, “SINE AUDACIA NULLUM PRAEMIUM” -- translated as: “without risk, there is no gain.” This motto is the cornerstone of Tiffin University, its faculty and students. It is a message for life itself.
Tiffin University offers a comprehensive college experience both inside and outside of the classroom. Tiffin students use their minds and hands to engage in real-world experiences taught by faculty who are experts in their respective fields. TU faculty members serve as mentors and advisors and help students select the most effective classes of study. They also provide internship opportunities and careers with national and global industry partners, federal agencies, corporations and entrepreneurial companies.
Many Tiffin graduates are enrolled in high-paying career fields of study including Cyber-Defense and Information Security; Government and National Security; Intelligence and Securities Studies; Homeland Security and Terrorism; Digital Forensics; Computer and Information Technology; System and Network Support and Software Development, to name a few.
On campus, students of TU can participate in Division II Athletics, Greek Organizations, Music, the Arts, Public Service, International Cultures, Special-Interest Groups or Religious Organizations—just some of the enjoyable extracurricular activities that are designed to balance life and studies.
Tiffin University is the place to make powerful, life-long connections as you engage with a diverse population of students from across the United States and the globe. Today, there are 299 international students attending TU, representing more than 30 countries. Tiffin is proud of its growing diversity as it provides a unique opportunity for International and American students to share a heritage that goes beyond the classroom. Diversity is celebrated throughout campus and the community through food, arts and entertainment during the academic year.
In the classroom, academic achievement is paramount. Tiffin University believes a college degree is earned — not rewarded. Our graduation standards exceed those of many other institutions because the professional world expects excellence. As a student of Tiffin University, we will expect more from you and you will learn to expect more from yourself.
As TU’s newest and 5th President, I look forward to meeting you! I would consider it my honor to welcome you to our very unique institution of higher learning.
Curtis B. Charles, Ph.D.
