1st Annual Football Skills and Speed Development Camp

July 9 - Grades 5-8
July 10 - Grades 9-12

The TU football SSD camp focuses on offensive skill positions, excluding the quarterback position. Skills drills include:

  • Stance and starts
  • Cuts/breaks
  • Catching mechanics
  • Route running/ball security
  • Basic fundamentals of football

The second portion of the camp will focus on speed training. This will help improve speed and teach proper techniques of running. Drills include:

  • Dynamic warm-up drills
  • Proper arm action
  • Body position/acceleration
  • Acceleration technique

Camp Features

Athletes will be working with coaches who have had experience in all levels of football, including the NFL.

Coach Brian Ferguson brings years of experience from all levels of football.  He worked as Strength Coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars for two seasons, as well as Strength Coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for two seasons.  He also was Running Backs coach and Head Strength Coach for NFL Europe’s Rhein Fire.  In his time in the NFL Coach Ferguson produced 11 All-Pro Players and 1 NFLE Player of the Year.  Coach Ferguson served as Running Back coach at the Division I college level for Jacksonville University.  He also worked with Wide Receivers, Running Backs, and was an Offensive Coordinator at the High School level in Northern Florida, one of the most competitive places for High School football in the Country. 

Coach Joe Del Sardo has plenty of hands on game experience at the major Division I level.  He used his knowledge of football and speed to help go from a Walk-On to a starting Wide Receiver at the University of Pittsburgh.  He was the 2nd leading receptions leader in Fiesta Bowl history after grabbing nine catches for 109 yards in 2005.  He played alongside receivers such as Larry Fitzgerald and Antonio Bryant during his career.  Coach DelSardo also served as a Wide Receiver coach at the High School level in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for three years.
