Kulp's double, strong bullpen get Dragons first victory

Tiffin University (1-2) pulled out the nightcap at West Georgia, rallying to win 9-6 in 12 innings after dropping the opener 12-3. In the Dragons victory, Jason Kulp came through with a 3-run double in the 12th inning to give TU the victory, but it was the Dragons bullpen that came through even more. TU's pen tossed 8.2 innings of shutout relief after 5 earned runs were allowed by starter Trevor Woodjetts in 3.1 innings. Cory Hornyak got the win, pitching 6 shutout innings while Brock Mitchell picked up the save.

TU scored 4 runs in the 6th inning to tie the game at 6-6. Overall, TU banged out 14 hits on the day, with Colin Lowe getting 3 hits, Val Helldobler (2 hits, 2 RBI), Kyle Blackford (2 RBI), and Ty Blake (2 hits, double) leading the way. Pat Curtin (2 hits), Hornyak (2 hits) and Bobby Mullin (double) also played well.

In the opener, TU managed just 5 hits while Donnie Smith took the loss after allowing 6 earned runs in 1 inning. West Georgia led 9-0 after 2 innings. Tom Touris had a double and RBI.

Dragons poor start leads to 73-59 loss at Northern Michigan

Tiffin University (6-15) opened the game allowing a 20-3 run and eventually fell to Northern Michigan 73-59. The Dragons struggled again from the field, shooting just 33 percent for the game. NMU also hit 9 three pointers in the game to TU's 2. Katrina Clark led the team with 15 points while Stephanie Kelly had 13 and Jennifer Johnston had 11. Mandy Jaeb totaled 8 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists, while Jessica Harris also had 6 points with 12 rebounds.

Jordan's 32 goes for naught, Dragons fall 82-72

Tiffin University (1-20) got 32 points from DeAngelo Jordan, as he sparked a comeback effort by the Dragons after a disappointing first half, but it wasn't enough as TU fell at Northern Michigan 82-72. The Dragons trailed by as much as 27 points in the first half, rallying late to cut the deficit to a 51-32 halftime score. TU continued to fight throughout the second half, with Jordan leading the way as the Dragons cut the deficit to a 9 point game with 3:33 to go. The Dragons could get no closer, however, as the Wildcats shot a steady 54 percent from the floor while also hitting 19 free throws to TU's 10. Jordan's 32 points led the way along with 8 rebounds, while Brian Scott had 14 points, Keenan Barlow had 9 points, and Travis Spahr added 8 points.
