Dragons prepare for 2007 season

The Tiffin University Baseball team has lofty expectations in their final season of NAIA competition, looking to make their mark in conference and regional playoffs. "Our goals are to win the AMC conference title and move on to regional playoffs. We have a young, talented team that I’m excited to see go out and play," said Head Coach Lonny Allen, returning for his 16th season as the Dragons’ Skipper. The Dragons will look to improve on last year’s 26-25 overall record, which ended in disappointing fashion as the team finished one game out of the NAIA Region IX Playoffs. "I thought we underachieved a bit last year," said Coach Allen. "We had a veteran squad that could play with any team in the region but was not able to finish the job. This year we have a young team that should be exciting to watch." The team has lost nine seniors from last year’s squad, including 2B Rhett Adams, OF Brian Moore, and P Kurt Thompson, all of whom earned All-Region selections during their careers. (more)
