2008 Baseball Recruits

Dragons sign Curtin, McCutcheon


Coach Allen and the Tiffin University Baseball coaching staff would like to announce the signing of LHP/1B Patrick Curtin. Curtin comes to TU from a traditional baseball powerhouse, Moeller High School in Cincinnati. Last season at Moeller, Patrick hit .393 and was 3-0 with a 1.54 ERA. This year he was named captain of the Crusaders baseball team. So far on the season, he is hitting .463 and is 1-1 with a 1.34 ERA. Patrick will be a great addition to the Dragons pitching staff and the offensive lineup. Patrick is the son of Ed and Liz Curtin. Coach Allen comments on the signing of Patrick, "We are excited Patrick is coming to Tiffin University. He has the ability to impact our program on the mound and in the field right away. We also like the leadership qualities Patrick displays which earned him captain status for both the football and baseball team."

The Tiffin University Dragons baseball coaching staff added another recruit for the 2008-2009 season in Zach McCutcheon.  McCutcheon is a catcher from Field High School.  Last season, Zach was named to the 2nd team All-Portage Trail League.  He is the son of Joseph and Lori McCutcheon.  Coach’s Comments, “Zach is a very solid ball player.  He will fit in well with our catchers we have here.  He can run, throw, and hit which makes him a quality addition to our program.  We are excited Zach is a Dragon.”  
          

Another baseball standout signs with TU

The Tiffin University baseball coaching staff would like to announce Tallmadge High School product, Jonathan Campriana, has signed the National Letter of Intent to continue his academic and athletic career as a Dragon.  Campriana is an outfielder who comes to the Dragons as a highly touted hitter.  His ability to swing the bat will give the Dragons another solid bat in the lineup.  Last year as a junior, Jonathan garnered 1st Team All- Suburban League Team, Summit County Player of the Year, and Plain Dealer Player of the Year honors.  He is the son of Joe and Chris Campriana and is pursuing a career in the Criminal Justice field.  Coach Allen remarks on Jonathan’s signing, “We are excited Jonathan is coming to Tiffin.  Because of his competitive background, he will make a quick impact on the program.”
