TU wins season finale 6-3 over Findlay

The Dragons (5-12) won a number of close matches, downing Findlay in their season finale 6-3. After Harry Smith/Bo Young (8-4) and Ben Fletcher/Ryan Toporowsky (8-6) won close doubles matches, Smith won another close one at first singles 3-6, 7-6 (7-2), 6-4. Fletcher also won a narrow decision 6-4, 5-7, (10-4), while Tristan McLean and Young won straight set singles contests. Ryan Hodges lost a three set singles match 6-2, 2-6, 1-6, while Toporowsky also fell 5-7, 3-6.

TU drops narrow decision at Cedarville

The Dragons (4-12) dropped their doubles matches, then stormed back in singles play, nearly completing the comeback at Cedarville before falling 5-4. The deciding match came at 4th singles, where Ryan Hodges fell in a three-set match 6-2, 2-6, 3-6. Harry Smith, Tristan McLean, Bo Young, and Ben Fletcher all won straight set singles matches, while Ryan Toporowsky also lost a close match 4-6, 5-7.

TU dominates Bluffton 8-1 for fourth victory

The Dragons (4-11) dominated play with an 8-1 victory over Bluffton. TU swept the singles matches, with Harry Smith, Tristan McLean, Bo Young, Ryan Hodges, Ryan Toporowsky, and Bryan Heisler all winning. Hodges/McLean and Smith/Young also won doubles matches.

Dragons lose close match to Malone 6-3

The Dragons (2-11) dropped three close doubles matches and another tight singles match in falling to Malone 6-3. Tristan McLean and Bo Young both won singles matches in straight sets, while Ben Fletcher also won a close sixth singles match 6-2, 4-6, 6-2, but a 4-6, 5-7 loss by Ryan Toporowsky and doubles losses by scores of 7-9, 6-8, and 5-8 stopped the Dragons in their tracks.

Dragons fall in road match with Ohio Northern 6-3

The Dragons (2-10) picked up three victories in a 6-3 loss at Ohio Northern, with Bo Young winning 6-2, 6-2 in singles play and teaming with Harry Smith to win at second doubles 8-4. Ben Fletcher also won his singles match 6-4, 6-4. All the other singles losses were in straight sets.

Dragons drop 7-2 decision to Wayne State

The Dragons (2-9) won just two matches against Wayne State, falling 7-2. Bo Young figured in both victories, winning at third singles 6-1, 6-3 and teaming with Harry Smith to win at second doubles 8-4. Ryan Toporowsky/Benjamin Fletcher also fell in a close doubles match 5-8.

Dragons fall at Bellarmine 8-1

The Dragons (2-8) struggled on the road at Bellarmine, posting one doubles victory in an 8-1 loss. Harry Smith/Bo Young won at second doubles 8-5, but Bellarmine controlled the other matches, with Young's 3rd singles match being the closest one 6-7, 1-6.

Case Western clips Dragons 8-1

The Dragons (2-7) fell to Case Western 8-1, with Bo Young getting the lone victory 6-1, 6-1 at 3rd singles. Tristan McLean lost the closest singles match 6-7 (5-7), 4-6, while Harry Smith/Young  lost a tough doubles match 8-9 (10-12).

Dragons fall on the road at Northern Kentucky

The Dragons (2-6) had a rough outing at Northern Kentucky, falling 8-1. Bo Young had the lone win for the Dragons, winning at third singles 8-4. Tristan McLean dropped a close match 8-9 (3-7), while Young/Harry Smith also had a narrow defeat in doubles 8-9 (4-7).

Dragons drop final spring trip match 6-3 to Nebraska Wesleyan

The Dragons (2-5) lost three close matches en route to a 6-3 loss to Nebraska Wesleyan. Harry Smith fell at first singles 2-6, 6-7 (7-9), Ryan Toporowsky lost at fifth singles 7-5, 6-7 (3-7), 9-11, and Smith/Bo Young lost at second doubles 8-9 (8-10). Pulling out a tough three set win was Tristan McLean 7-6 (7-0), 2-6, 10-5, while Young and Fletcher also got singles wins. 

Dragons fall to Wisconsin-Eau Claire 8-1

The Dragons (2-4) posted just one victory against Wisconsin-Eau Claire, falling 8-1. Harry Smith won a tough battle at second singles 3-6, 7-6 (7-4), 10-4, but the only other close match was at first singles where Tristan McLean fell in three sets 2-6, 6-4, 3-10.

Dragons post solid 7-2 win over St. Michael's

The Dragons (2-3) nearly swept their match with St. Michael's, wiinning all the matches except for a three-set loss by Ryan Hodges and a 5-8 decision at third doubles. Harry Smith, Ben Fletcher, and Ryan Toporowsky had straight set singles wins, with Tristan McLean had a 7-5, 4-6, 10-5 win and Bo Young had a 6-1, 4-6, 14-12 victory. Hodges/McLean and Smith/Young also got doubles victories. 

Dragons drop 6-3 decision to Brevard

The Dragons (1-3) got some hard fought singles victories but fell short, falling to Brevard 6-3. Harry Smith won at first singles 4-6, 7-6 (7-4), 10-7 and Tristan McLean also won a tough one 3-6, 6-4, 10-5, while Ben Fletcher got the other Dragons win at sixth singles 2-6, 6-2, 10-6.

Dragons fall to Northern Georgia 8-0 in spring trip opener

The Dragons lost 8-0 to Northern Georgia in their spring trip opener in Hilton Head, with Tristan McLean falling 2-6, 6-3, 5-10 and Bo Young losing 6-3, 1-6, 8-10 in the closest matches of the day. Young/Harry Smith also fell at second doubles 5-8.

Dragons post first win with 6-3 score over Alma

Harry Smith, Phil Conley, and Tristan McLean dominated their singles matches, while Ben Fletcher also won a tough singles match 8-6, as TU avenged a loss to Alma one day prior with a 6-3 victory. The teams of McLean/Ryan Hodges and Conley/Smith also won doubles matches in leading TU to their first spring victory. (Complete results)

Dragons drop close one in spring opener 5-4 to Alma

Phil Conley lost a tough three set match at second singles 7-5, 5-7, 4-6, proving to be the difference in a 5-4 loss to Alma in TU's spring opener. Wins were posted in straight sets by Harry Smith 6-2, 6-2 while Tristan McLean won a tough three-setter 6-3, 3-6, 6-2. McLean/Ryan Hodges and Smith/Conley also won close doubles matches 8-6 each. Fletcher opens 2007-08 season with title at Hilltopper Classic

Junior Ben Fletcher won the singles title in Flight C at the Hilltopper Classic on Sept. 7-8. Fletcher had tough victories in two of his three matches, winning his opener 6-4, 5-7, 16-14 over Darren Fields of West Liberty State before beating Derek Gulling of West Liberty State 6-1, 6-4. In the title match, Fletcher won another three-set thriller over Derek Poling of West Virginia Wesleyan 6-3, 4-6, 6-4. For all the Dragons results, click here

Dragons earn three All-Conference honors

Junior Philip Conley earned his third All-American Mideast Conference honor as a singles player, as the Dragons garnered a total of three All-AMC honorees after their record-setting season. The Region IX runner-ups also had freshman Diego Miranda honored as a singles-doubles player and freshman Harry Smith earning a doubles honor.

Dragons fall one point short against Walsh

Tiffin (13-9, 4-2 AMC) fell one point short of reaching the NAIA National Tournament, falling 5-4 to Walsh in the Region IX Championship. Tristan McLean and Harry Smith were the lone singles winners for TU, winning in straight sets. Phil Conley and Diego Miranda fell in straight sets in the top two singles matches, as did Ryan Hodges and Ben Fletcher. TU won two of the three doubles matches, with McLean/Hodges winning 9-7 and Conley/Tyler Webb winning 8-2.

Dragons advance to Region Championship

Tiffin (13-8, 4-2 AMC) advanced to the Region IX Championship game for the first time in their history with a strong 6-3 victory at Cedarville. They will now take on top-seed Walsh at 9 a.m. Friday with a trip to the NAIA National Championships on the line. The Dragons played strong singles matches to start the day, getting straight set victories from Phil Conley, Diego Miranda, Harry Smith, and Ben Fletcher.  Tristan McLean/Ryan Hodges won 9-7 at second doubles while Phil Conley/Tyler Webb also won 8-5 to secure the victory.
