Two new school records were set and three Dragons qualified for the NCAA national meet over the weekend at the Division I & II All-Ohio Championships, held at the University of Cincinnati. Andrea Bader ran the 200 meter dash in 24.96 seconds, breaking the 25.09 mark she set in 2006 at Cedarville. Jeremy Lee broke the school record for the 1500 meter run with a time of 3:52.76, which qualifies him for the NCAA national meet in May. Keith Reiter’s mark of 4.90 meters in the pole vault event also qualified him for the national meet, along with Kristen Ameling, whose 12.88 meter throw in the shot put event places her among the top qualifiers in the nation.  Other top performers at the event include: Dan Snyder placing fifth in the men’s decathlon; Thomas Buxton taking sixth in the 800 meter dash with a time of 1:55.35; Ramone Brant taking sixth in the 110 meter hurdles (15.00 seconds); and Chad Roberts taking tenth in the 10000 meter run with a time of 32:40.52. The relay teams performed strongly at the event, as well, with the 4x400 meter relay team of Bryon Toran, Buxton, Lee, and Chad Johnson taking eighth place with a time of 3:24.75, and both men’s and women’s 4x100 meter relay teams taking ninth at the meet. The men’s team took seventh place at the event out of ten teams, and earned the second-highest placement for a Division II team; future GLIAC opponent Ashland finished in fourth place behind Ohio State, Akron, and Cincinnati.
