Tiffin University's Kristen Ameling capped off her brilliant track and field career with selection as 2009 CoSIDA First Team Academic All-American as selected by vote of the
CoSIDA Sports Information Directors.
Ameling, a GLIAC Commissioner's award recipient for the spring season, was also a First Team District 4 pick. She majored in Accounting and holds a 3.97 GPA. She qualified for the NCAA National Championships in the shot put, finishing 9th. Kristen was named Tiffin University’s Scholar Athlete of the Year during 2009 Commencement ceremony, capping a strong season where she set a new shot put record with a throw of 14-.06 meters. She won the shot put event at the GLIAC Championships, Oberlin, and Tiffin Invitationals and was also honored as GLIAC Outdoor Athlete of the Week.
