At the Ohio Northern Friday Night Series Meet, both track and field teams finished in the top three, with new school records being set for both squads. The men’s team finished second behind the host team, with Keith Reiter’s 16’ 2.75” mark in the pole vault event breaking the school record and qualifying Reiter for the NCAA Indoor Championships. Thomas Buxton’s time of 1:56.96 won the 800m run, while Dominique O’Neill won the 1,000m with a time of 2:37.32. The Dragons 4x400m relay team won with a time of 3:26.82, while Nick Thomas (200m dash-23.89 seconds), Chad Johnson (300m dash-37.34 seconds), Marcus Johnson (500m dash-1:07.82), Jeremy Lee (800m run-1:57), Justin Setty (3,000m run-9:09.74), John Pemberton (shot put-47’7”), and Cameron Lewis (weight throw-48’.5”) all finished in second place in their respective events.
    
In the 300m dash, Maria Shaw’s time of 41.49 seconds broke the school record and was one of the five first-place finishes for the women’s side. Jasmine Hopkins won the 200m dash with a time of 26.97 seconds, while Jessica Clark won the 5,000m run with a time of 20:31.30. Katrina Schumacker won the long jump competition with a mark of 16’4.25”, while Cara Roach won the shot put event with a throw of 38’9.5”. Both Hopkins (55m dash-7.5 seconds) and Angela Betterley (55m hurdles- 9.59 seconds) finished second in their respective events.

The Dragons track and field squads capped off their busy weekend at the Marietta College Open on Saturday, where the women’s team finished sixth out of ten teams and the men placed fourth out of seven teams. Jeremy Lee’s performance in the 1,000m run won the event and set a school record with a time of 2:32.88. Ramone Brant won the 55m hurdles with a time of 7.69 seconds, while Jason Bumb won the mile run with a time of 4:22.84. John Pemberton’s mark of 14.17 meters won the shot put competition, while Keith Reiter won the pole vault event with a mark of 4.57 meters. Second-place finishers for the men included Raymond Robinson’s mark of 14.91 meters in the weight throw event and James Carlson (1:11.56) in the 500m dash.

For the women’s team, Jasmine Hopkins won the 55m dash in 7.42 seconds to earn the squad’s only victory at the event. Maria Shaw finished second in the 800m run with a time of 2:28.66, while Kathy Kernen’s throw of 11.38 meters allowed her to finish second as well in the shot put event. Rachel Fitzwater (14.33m) and Melissa Jones (13.81m) finished third and fourth, respectively, in the weight throw competition.
