Dragons look forward to upcoming season

Tiffin University women’s basketball team is looking to improve on last year’s 7 win season.  The Dragons will kick off the season with a midnight practice on Oct. 15. Tiffin’s first taste of competition will come at the hands of the University of Miami (OH) Redhawks in an exhibition game at 2:00 p.m. in Oxford, OH.

The 2009-2010 campaign will begin in Tiffin, OH November 14 at 4:00 p.m. versus Slippery Rock University (PA).  Tiffin then hits the road, travelling to Boston the weekend before Thanksgiving.  The Dragons kick off the Merrimack Tournament with tournament host Merrimack College Nov.  20 at 7:30 p.m.  Tiffin returns the next afternoon at 1:00 or 3:00 versus either the University of Tampa or East Stroudsburg University.

The road stretch continues when Tiffin travels to conference foes Grand Valley State University on December 3 (6:00 p.m.) in Allendale, Michigan and Ferris State University December 5 (12:00 p.m.) in Big Rapids, Michigan.  On December 8 the Dragons travel to Gannon, Pennsylvania to take on Gannon University at 6 p.m.

Tiffin returns to the Gillmor Center on December 12 against Ashland University (1:00 p.m.) before travelling to Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan to take on Lake Superior State University December  19 at 1:00 p.m.

Tiffin returns from Christmas break to host future conference opponent Lake Erie College in the Gillmor Center on December 28 at 6:00 p.m.

The Dragons kick off the new year by travelling to Ashland, OH to take on Ashland University on January 2 (1:00 p.m.).

Tiffin sees four of their next five games on their home court beginning with Northern Michigan University on January 7 (6:00 p.m.) and Michigan Tech University on January 9 ( 1:00 p.m.).  With no time to rest Tiffin again hits the road for one game against Saginaw Valley State University in University Center, MI on January 11 at 6:00 p.m. On January 14 and January 16 Tiffin is back on their home campus for contests against Ferris State University (6:00 p.m.) and Grand Valley State University (1:00 p.m.).

Tiffin is back on the bus travelling to University of Findlay on January 21 at 5:30 p.m. and to Hillsdale, MI to take on Hillsdale College at 1:00 p.m. on January 23. Tiffin sees another home game on January 28 (6:00 p.m.) in the Gillmor Center versus the Warriors of Wayne State University.

A three game road trip is kicked of by travelling to Midland, MI to take on Northwood University on January 30 at 1:00 p.m. The Dragons then hit the Upper Peninsula to take on Michigan Tech University on February 4 in Houghton, MI (5:30 p.m.) and Northern Michigan in Marquette, MI on February 6 (1:00 p.m.)

Five of the next six games are in the confines of the Gillmor Center here at TU. A three game home stand starts off with  Lake Superior State University on February 11 (6:00 p.m.) followed by Saginaw Valley State University on February 13 (1:00 p.m.) and February 18 versus Northwood University (6:00 p.m.)

The Dragons last regular season road game sees them travelling to Detroit, MI to take on Wayne State University on February 20 at 1:00 p.m.

Tiffin University closes out its regular season contests at home. Tiffin welcomes Hillsdale College on February 25 at 6:00 p.m. and will host University of Findlay on senior night to close out the regular season for the Lady Dragons (Feb. 27 at 1:00 p.m.).

The GLIAC Tournament is scheduled to begin on March 2.
