TU announces Dragon Radio featuring three live events

Tiffin University is proud to announce the debut of Dragon Radio Live, a monthly radio program that will broadcast live from Madison Street Pub and Grub on Oct. 5 from 6-7 p.m. The show is part of a continuing partnership between Tiffin University and WMJK 100.9 FM and provides insight into Dragons Athletics as well as highlights the continuing development of the program and institution through the construction of the new  Recreation Center and other initiatives. Alumni and Friends of the University are invited to join in the fun of a "live" show. Doors open at 5 p.m.


WMJK is the home of Dragons football, broadcasting all 11 games while also providing an internet stream for fans to listen to abroad. Dragons Radio will be a monthly feature highlighting all Dragons Athletic teams along with their sponsors and supporters, with a total of three broadcasts being live events from local establishments. Future live broadcasts are scheduled for Nov. 16 at T.J. Willies and March 15 at Madison Street Pub and Grub. Voice of the Dragons Frank Barber, entering his 15th year working with Tiffin University, is the host of the show, while a wide variety of coaches, administrators, and players will receive exposure and provide interesting insight into Tiffin University.

Dragons finish 8th at Findlay Invite

Tiffin University finished 8th of 10 teams at the Findlay Invitational, shooting a 705. TU improved their round two scores, improving from a 357 to 348. Brittany Lynch finished 23rd, shooting 86-80-166, while Stephanie Templeman was 42nd with 92-86-178. Deb Landis shot 181, Sara Durkee had 183, and Kahla Bernacchi finished with 194.

Dragons place 4th at Northwood Invite

Tiffin University finished 4th of 5 teams at the Northwood Invitational, shooting a 681. The Dragons improved their first round score of 343 by five strokes on day two, finishing with a 338. Leading the way was Stephanie Templeman in 10th place, improving by 9 strokes on day two to finish with a 88-79-167, while Sara Durkee fired two rounds of 85 to finish 13th with 170. Brittany Lynch also had a great second round, shooting 89-83-172 for 15th place. Other Dragons finishers included Kahla Bernacchi with 175, Deborah Landis with 179, and Allison Soviak with 181.

Dragons finish 13th at Laker Fall Classic

Tiffin University finished 13th of 16 teams at the Laker Fall Classic held by Grand Valley State University. TU fell off considerably after round one, shooting 22 strokes worse on day two in finishing 356-378-734. Brittany Lynch was the top finisher for the Lady Dragons in 59th place (88-86-174) while Sara Durkee was 64th (85-93-178). Other scores for TU included Deborah Landis (68th, 181), Kahla Bernacchi (77th, 188), Stephanie Templeman (80th, 201), and Allison Soviak (86th, 217).

Dragons open 2009-10 season at Ferris State Invitational

Tiffin University finished 11th of 18 teams at the Bulldog Invitational, shooting a 681. TU had a strong second round, improving from a 349 in round one to a 332 on day two. Leading the way was Deborah Landis in 29th place with a 81-82-163, while Sara Durkee (89-78-167) was 29th and Brittany Lynch (86-82-168) was 46th. Stephanie Templeman (71st, 183), Allison Soviak (74th, 188), and Kahla Bernacchi (91st, 204) also competed.

Total of 76 athletes earn Spring GLIAC Academic honors

Tiffin University had 76 spring athletes that landed GLIAC All-Academic honors, as the conference announced its spring academic honorees. Overall 565 GLIAC athletes were honored. Baseball (22) and Men's Track (23) had the most honored sports in the conference in their respective sports. For the complete list, click here.

Dragons organize annual Summer Day Camp

The Tiffin University Golf Camp will be run from June 28 - July 1 (Sunday-Wednesday) with a cost of $100. Registration will be at the Gillmor Center on June 28 starting at 11 am. The camp is designed for junior golfers (boys and girls ages 7-18) that have an appreciation for the game and are eager to learn more about the rich tradition that makes golf the greatest game in the world. Every player in attendance will receive top notch instruction on the finer points of the game and individual instruction that will assist him or her in becoming the best golfer that he or she can be. The staff and coaches of the golf camp are committed to teaching the values and integrity of the game of golf and all players are guaranteed a fun and exciting experience that will last a lifetime. Dragons finish 6th at GLIAC Championships

Tiffin University's Lady Dragons shot 750 (382-368), finishing 6th at the GLIAC Championships. Amber Wetherill was the top finisher for the Lady Dragons, tying for 19th with 83-88-171, while Sara Durkee was next with 87-88-175. Amanda Hoile shot 197 and Kahla Bernacchi finished with 207. Grand Valley State won the event with a total of 615.
