Ryan Sams enters his second season as Head Coach of the Women’s Golf Team. In his first season, the Lady Dragons struggled but they did pick up a tournament win in the fall at the St. Joseph’s Invitational. “Last year was a good learning experience for the girls as well as myself. We played against great competition and got the chance to see what it takes to be a top team in this Conference. I look forward to this coming season and seeing the improvements our program has made over this past year.”
Along with Sams’ coaching duties, he will be the Academic Coordinator for Student Athletes at TU. Ryan will work with each athletic program in helping them achieve academic success. “As a whole, our student-athletes have done a great job of managing their respective sports schedules and academics. Last spring, the athletic teams combined for a total of 141 Scholar Athletes and a 3.13 GPA. I look forward to continuing these successes and hopefully raising both the number of Scholar Athletes and GPA’s even higher.”
Sams is a 2008 Graduate from Tiffin University with a degree in Business Management that concentrated on both Sport Management and Hospitality Management. He was also a member of the Men’s Golf Team and became a captain during his senior season. Sams is also currently working towards his MBA at Tiffin University.
