Smith named Great Lakes All-Region   

Tiffin University's Tiffany Smith was named Second Team All-Great Lakes Region by vote of the region's sports information directors, as the 2008 Daktronics Inc. All-Region Softball Team was announced. Smith was one of only two freshmen on the team, joining pitcher Torie Bunzell of Quincy. Smith led the Dragons with a .493 average before her season was cut short due to a leg injury.

Dragons sweep Panthers to finish season   

The Dragons (27-14-1) exhibited good hitting and good pitching in both games on the road at Ohio Dominican, with their bats saving the day in a 11-6 win and strong pitching leading the way in a 2-1 nightcap victory. Kellie Kitchen fired a two-hitter over 7 innings in the nightcap, with Stacey Lucas getting 2 hits and Lauren Williams hitting a double. Kenzie Kitchen drove in the gamewinning run in the 6th inning. In the opener, Krista Sowers got the win, scattering 6 hits in a 5 inning effort. Michaela Dermanelian had 4 hits and Cyla Hawkins added 3 more hits with a double and 2 RBI to lead the way. Lucas and Jessica Ramriez had 2 hits while Stephanie Turvene also had 2 RBI. 

Kitchen fires one-hitter as Dragons get split with Northwood   

The Dragons (25-14-1) got a fantastic performance from Kellie Kitchen, as she fired a one-hitter and allowed only two baserunners in a 9-0 victory at Northwood. Michaela Dermanelian drilled a two-run home run and added another hit for an RBI to lead the way, while Nicole Romero had two hits for 2 RBI. Lauren Williams also had two hits. In the opener, Northwood scored four runs in the 5th inning to pull out a 5-2 win. Krista Sowers took the loss despite fanning 11 batters over 7 innings. Kristina Rendle had two hits while Dermanelian had 2 RBI with a double. 

Dragons split with Saginaw Valley in close games   

The Dragons (24-13-1) posted a close 3-2 win over Saginaw Valley State, but then dropped the nightcap by the same 3-2 margin. Krista Sowers got the opening victory, with Nicole Romero getting two hits with a triple while Lauren Williams added a double. Kellie Kitchen suffered the tough luck loss, with Kristina Rendle getting two hits with a double. TU had numerous chances with runners in scoring position, as Cyla Hawkins, Williams, and Ashley Gordon all had doubles.

Senior Day successful for Dragons over Otterbein  

The Dragons (23-12-1) had an enjoyable Senior Day, dispatching Otterbein 5-1 and 5-0. Seniors Stephanie Turvene and Lauren Williams were honored prior to the games, with Williams getting into the swing of things with a home run and 2 RBI in the 5-0 victory. Kellie Kitchen got the win with a four-hitter, as Cyla Hawkins and Nicole Romero also had two hits. In the opener, Krista Sowers allowed just four hits and fanned 8, as Stephanie Lucas had 2 hits and Williams added a double.

Dermanelian's hit leads to TU win over Ferris State  

The Dragons (21-12-1) got a clutch single from Michaela Dermanelian in the bottom of the 7th inning, plating two runs to post a dramatic 4-3 comeback victory in the opener against Ferris State. Krista Sowers got the win with 10 strikeouts and 7 hits allowed over 7 innings, while Dermanelian had 3 hits and 4 RBI in the game. Cyla Hawkins also had 2 hits. In the nightcap, the Bulldogs turned the tables, smacking the Dragons 16-3 in five innings. Kellie Kitchen started and took the loss, while Kristina Rendle had 3 hits and Hawkins and Dermanelian had 2 hits each.
