Dragons post win in regular season finale 6-3
Tiffin (9-8)
traveled to Indiana PA and posted a 6-3 win in their final regular season match.
Ashley Hershner, Faith Greenawalt, Jessie Stefanov, and Jessica Pivato won
straight set singles matches, while Teauana Long lost a tough match 6-7 (5-7),
3-6. Long/Beth Clark won 8-6 at doubles, while Greenawalt/Woods also won 8-1.
Melissa Poe and Erika Bailey also won exhibition matches. Dragons fall to regionally-ranked Mercyhurst 9-0
Tiffin (8-8) took
on Mercyhurst (ranked 8th in the region) on the road and fell 9-0. All the
singles matches were straight set losses, with Faith Greenawalt and Jessie
Stefanov posting the closest scores in 2-6, 5-7 defeats. Greenawalt/Vickie Woods
also fell at third doubles 6-8. Dragons back over .500 with 6-3 win
Tiffin (8-7) controlled play
with four singles victories, bouncing back over .500 with a 6-3 victory over
Case Western. Teauana Long, Faith Greenawalt, Jessie Stefanov, and Erika Bailey
all won in straight sets, while Long/Beth Clark and Greenawalt/Vickie Woods also

picking up a third singles victory 6-4, 6-4. All the other singles losses were
in straight sets except for Jessie Stefanov, who fell 6-2, 4-6, (2-10). Dragons bounce Findlay 7-2 to pull back to .500

dispatched Findlay at home 7-2 behind the strength of five singles victories.

won a hard fought match 4-6, 7-6 (7-5), (11-9). Jessie Stefanov pulled out a
close straight sets win 7-6 (7-5), 6-3, while Jess Pivato and Faith Greenawalt

Tiffin (5-6) won two of the
three doubles matches but couldn't pull out singles victories, as Saginaw Valley
State downed the Dragons 6-3. Teauana Long/Beth Clark won at second doubles 8-5
and Faith Greenawalt/Erika Bailey won 8-5 at third doubles, but Greenawalt was
the lone winner in singles play, winning 6-3, 1-6, (11-9). TU's singles losses

third straight match, dropping a 6-3 decision at Baldwin-Wallace. Faith
Greenawalt picked up a straight set singles victory 6-1, 6-0 while also teaming

second straight match with a 6-3 decision at Ohio Northern. Jessie Stefanov
pulled out a tough three-set match 0-6, 6-3, 6-3, while Faith Greenawalt helped
pick up the other two wins with a 6-1, 6-4 singles win and teaming with Vickie

outing against a strong Northern Kentucky squad, falling 9-0. The closest match
came in doubles play, where Teauana Long/Beth Clark fell 5-8. Vickie Woods
dropped the closest singles match 4-8. Dragons dominate play against Transylvania 8-1
Tiffin dropped just
one match Saturday in an 8-1 win over Transylvania. Teauna Long outlasted
Transylvania’s Katie Boone, 6-1, 4-6, 10-3, at No. 1 singles, and Vicki Woods
upended Sarah Prewitt, 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 at No. 6. Ashley Hershner took the No. 2
singles match, 6-3, 6-4, over Sarah Ridley; Faith Greenawalt steamrolled Kathy
Shawmaker, 6-2, 6-0, at No. 3; and Jessie Stefanov hammered Abby Newcomb, 6-2,
6-1, at No. 4. Tiffin’s Stefanov and Hershner blitzed Boone and Ridley, 8-1, at
No. 1 doubles; Long and Beth Clark nosed out Shawmaker and Newcomb, 9-7 (7-3),
at No. 2; and Greenawalt and Woods beat Ryser and Karrie Weber, 8-2 at No. 3.
Melissa Poe of TU also beat Katie Baldwin, 8-1, in an exhibition match.
Dragons fall in final spring contest 8-1
The Dragons (4-2)
couldn't get on track against a solid Nebraska Wesleyan team, falling 8-1 in
their final match at Hilton Head. Jessie Stefanov/Ashley Hershner won at first
doubles 8-4, but they were the lone victors, as Hershner also lost a three-set
singles match 6-4, 1-6, 3-10. Stefanov fell 5-7, 5-7, while Faith
Greenawalt/Vickie Woods fell in a close doubles match 5-8. Dragons dominate play against Wooster 9-0
The Dragons (4-1)
dominated the College of Wooster 9-0 to win for the fourth time in five tries
this spring. All the singles victories were in straight sets, with the closest
match coming at fifth singles where Erika Bailey won 7-6 (8-6), 7-5. Teanuana
Long, Ashley Hershner, Faith Greenawalt, Jessie Stefanov, and Vickie Woods also
won singles matches. Stefanov/Hershner, Long/Beth Clark, and Greenawalt/Woods

Dragons (3-1) picked up a 5-4 win over St. Michael's, with Faith Greenawalt
sealing the win with a 6-3, 7-6 (7-1) victory at third singles. The Dragons also

picking up doubles victories from Mia Hagiu/Stefanov 8-4 and Greenawalt/Beth

The Dragons (2-1)
dropped two matches after an injury to top singles player Mia Hagiu, eventually
falling to Brevard 5-4. Three other singles matches went three sets, with TU
losing two of them in the very close match. Ashley Hershner won 5-7, 6-3, 10-4
while Jessie Stefanov also won in straight sets. In doubles play, Teauana
Long/Hershner won 8-6 and Faith Greenawalt/Beth Clark won 8-5. Dragons win first spring match 5-4 over Bridgewater

(2-0) controlled singles play, picking up four victories en route to another
narrow 5-4 win, this time over Bridgewater in Hilton Head. Mia Hagiu, Teauana
Long, Faith Greenawalt, and Ashley Hershner all won in straight sets singles
matches, while Jessie Stefanov/Hagiu also won at first doubles 8-3. Erike Bailey
also won her exhibition match 8-3. Dragons open spring season with 5-4 win over Oberlin
The Dragons
(1-0) won four singles matches in beating Oberlin 5-4 in their spring opener,
with Mia Hagiu, Teauana Long, Faith Greenawalt and Jessica Stefanov all wiinning
in straight sets. TU also won the third doubles match played by Vickie Woods/

The Dragons swept the doubles matches and won their top four
singles matches in beating Lake Superior State 7-2 to finish their fall season
with a 3-5 record. Mia Hagiu/Jessie Stefanov won 8-4, Teauana Long/Ashley
Hershner won 8-5, and Faith Greenawalt/Beth Clark won 8-4. In singles play,
Hagiu, Long, and Hershner won in straight sets, while Greenawalt also won 2-6,
6-4, 10-4. Dragons fall to Michigan Tech 6-3
The Dragons got straight set
singles wins by Mia Hagiu, Faith Greenawalt, and Jessie Stefanov but couldn't
win any of the doubles matches, eventually losing to Michigan Tech 6-3. TU lost
a number of close doubles matches, with Greenawalt/Beth Clark falling 8-9 (4-7),
while Hagiu/Stefanov lost 5-8.
Dragons beat Heidelberg 8-1
The Dragons dominated play against Heidelberg, winning 8-1. Mia Hagiu, Teauana Long, Faith Greenawalt, Ashley Hershner, Beth Clark, and Erika Bailey all won straight set singles matches, while the doubles teams of Long/Greenawalt and Clark/Hagiu easily won doubles matches. TU's lone loss came at first doubles, where Hershner/Jessie Stefanov were nipped 9-7.
Dragons post 5-4 win over Oilers
The Dragons swept three close doubles matches to get the win over Findlay 5-4. Ashley Hershner/Jessie Stefanov won 8-4, Teauana Long/Faith Greenawalt won 9-7, and Beth Clark/Mia Hagiu won 8-6. Winning singles matches were Hagiu and Greenawalt in straight sets.
The Dragons fell to 0-4 this fall with a 9-0 loss to Grand Valley State. The closest match came at third singles, where Beth Clark/Mia Hagiu fell 4-8. All the singles matches were decided in straight sets.

Dragons lose close one to Otterbein
The Dragons fell in a narrow battle with Otterbein 5-4, as the deciding match came down to Ashley Hershner's 7-6 (8-6), 7-6 (7-4) loss at 3rd singles. TU got wins from Mia Hagiu 6-1, 6-1, Faith Greenawalt 6-1, 6-4, Jessie Stefanov 6-4, 6-4, and Teauana Long/Greenawalt 8-6. Other close losses were at 1st doubles, where Hershner/Hagiu fell 6-8, and Beth Clark at 6th singles (3-6, 4-6).
Dragons drop matches at ITA tourney
The Dragons could not pick up a win in three singles matches and two
doubles matches at the ITA tourney. Mia Hagiu fell in a tough three set match
3-6, 6-1, 7-10, while Ashley Hershner fell 2-6, 1-6. Teauana Long also lost a
tough one 5-7, 1-6. In doubles, Long/Hershner fell 1-8 and Long/Beth Clark fell
3-8.
Dragons fall to Ashland in fall opener 9-0
The Dragons never got on track against Ashland, falling 9-0 in their fall opener. The closest match was at second singles, where Ashley Hershner went three sets before falling 6-1, 1-6, 3-6. The other singles losses were straight set defeats. Teauana Long/Hershner also had the closest doubles match, losing 3-8.
Gibson leads AMC honorees
Senior Kristen Gibson earned her second consecutive American Mideast Conference honor for the Region IX runner-up Dragons, earning selection as a singles-doubles player. Junior Faith Greenawalt also was named as a singles-doubles honoree. It was Greenawalt's first AMC honor in her career.
Lady Dragons fall 5-4 in Region Championship
The Dragons (13-10, 7-2 AMC) fell one victory short of returning to the NAIA National Tournament, losing to Walsh 5-4 in the Region IX Championship. Kristen Gibson (6-2, 7-5), Tee Long (6-2, 6-2) and Dena Haehn (7-5, 6-2) all won singles matches in straight sets, but the Dragons suffered two critical three set losses as Faith Greenawalt (6-3, 5-7, 1-6) and Wynter Toland (6-3, 3-6, 5-7) both fell. Long/Laura Jeanblanc won a tough doubles match 9-7, but Gibson/Greenawalt lost 5-8 at first doubles and Toland/Beth Clark fell 2-8.
Dragons avenge loss, reach Region IX
Championship
The Dragons (13-9, 7-2 AMC) bounced back from a 5-4 loss to Ohio
Dominican in their last regular season match with a strong 7-2 win in the Region
IX Semifinals. The defending Region IX Champions will now take on Walsh at 1
p.m. in the Region IX Championship Friday with a trip to the NAIA National
Tournament on the line. Tiffin got straight set singles victories from Kristen
Gibson, Wynter Toland, and Dena Haehn, while Faith Greenawalt (4-6, 6-1, 6-4)
and Tee Long (7-6 (8-6), 0-6, 6-1) pulling out tough three set wins.
Gibson/Greenawalt (8-6) and Toland/Beth Clark (9-7) also played well in winning
close matches.
