Dragons fall to Ohio Dominican in finale 8-1
Tiffin (5-17) fell at
Ohio Dominican 8-1, with the doubles team of Jessie Stefanov/Taylor Cooper
pulling out the lone win 8-6. Teauana Long/Beth Clark lost a close match at
second doubles 5-8, while Long also had the closest singles match. She fell at
first singles 5-7, 3-6.
Dragons post 6-3 win over Wooster
Tiffin (5-16) pulled out two
three-set singles matches to notch a 6-3 win over Wooster. Beth Clark won at
fourth singles 6-2, 0-6, 6-2 while Erika Bailey won at fifth singles 6-3, 0-6,
6-3. Other singles wins came at second singles from Taylor Cooper 6-3, 6-2 and
third singles from Jessie Stefanov 6-2, 6-3. In doubles, Stefanov/Cooper won at
first doubles 8-0 and Teauana Long/Clark won at second doubles 8-5.

Dragons singles lead the way in 7-2 win over Indiana PA
Tiffin
(4-16) won five of the six singles matches in posting a 7-2 victory over Indiana
PA. Teauana Long, Taylor Cooper, Jessie Stefanov, and Beth Clark all won in
straight sets, while Erika Bailey pulled out a tough singles match 1-6, 6-0,
6-4. The Dragons lone loss came at sixth singles, where Jessica Pivato narrowly
fell 4-6, 6-1, 8-10. Cooper/Stefanov won at first doubles 8-5 while Long/Clark
won 8-1. Pivato/Bailey fell in another close match at third doubles 4-8.
Dragons fall 8-1 at Oberlin
Tiffin (3-16) got its one win at first
doubles in a 8-1 loss at Oberlin. Taylor Cooper/Jessie Stefanov won a close
battle at first doubles 8-6, with the next closest match coming at second
doubles where Beth Clark/Teauana Long fell 4-8. All the singles matches were
straight set losses for TU.
Dragons drop 6-3 decision to Shepherd
Tiffin (3-15) picked up two
doubles wins but couldn't pick up enough points in other matches, falling to
Shepherd 6-3. Jessie Stefanov/Taylor Cooper won at first doubles 8-3 and Teauana
Long/Beth Clark won at second doubles 8-4, while Long also got the long singles
win 6-3, 6-1. TU's other singles losses were in straight sets, with Clark's 4-6,
4-6 loss the closest match.
Dragons fall to Gettysburg 8-1
Tiffin (3-14) posted its lone win
at second doubles, where Teauana Long/Beth Clark won 8-6 , while Taylor
Cooper/Jessie Stefanov lost a close one at first doubles 6-8. Clark also lost a
close singles match at fourth singles 4-6, 4-6.
Dragons drop 8-1 decision to Tusculum
Tiffin (3-13) got a win at
second singles from Taylor Cooper in a tough 2-6, 7-5, 10-5 match, but couldn't
manage any other points in falling to Tusculum 8-1. Cooper/Jessie Stefanov came
close to winning at first doubles but fell 7-9. The other singles matches were
straight set losses dominated by Tusculum.
Dragons fall to Brevard 9-0
Tiffin (3-12) couldn't handle Brevard,
as the Dragons fell 9-0 in a tough outing. All the singles losses were in
straight sets, with Teauana Long falling at first singles 2-6, 4-6 and Jessie
Stefanov losing at third singles 4-6, 2-6 in the closest matches. Taylor
Cooper/Stefanov lost in the closest doubles match 4-8.
Dragons win spring opener 6-3
Tiffin (3-11) got four singles wins
in beating Emory & Henry 6-3 in their 2009 spring opener. Teauana Long
posted a 6-0, 6-0 win at first singles, Taylor Cooper won at second singles 6-3,
6-1, Jessie Stefanov picked up a third singles win 6-1, 6-1, and Jessica Pivato
won at sixth singles 6-2, 6-2. Beth Clark fell in a close fourth singles match
4-6, 6-4, 7-10. In doubles, Cooper/Stefanov won 8-4 at first doubles and
Clark/Long won at second doubles 8-5.
Long earns All-GLIAC honor
Teauana Long was the lone Dragons
player honored with the announcement of the All-GLIAC Women's Tennis Team. Long,
a junior, earned Honorable Mention selection. She posted a 2-11 overall record
playing first singles for the Dragons, while posting a 4-9 mark at first
doubles.
Lakers dominate play over Dragons 9-0
Tiffin (2-11) couldn't win a
match against Grand Valley State, falling 9-0 on the road. Ashley Hershner lost
the closest match of the day at second singles 0-6, 5-7, while Teauana Long also
fell at first singles 0-6, 4-6. In the other seven matches that were played, TU
won a total of 5 games.
Ferris State sweeps past Dragons 9-0
Tiffin (2-10) had a couple of
close matches but could not win a set against Ferris State, falling 9-0. Ashley
Hershner/Taylor Cooper had the day's closest match at second doubles, falling
6-8. Hershner also lost at second singles 2-6, 4-6, while Beth Clark lost at
fifth singles 3-6. 0-6.
Dragons shutout by Michigan Tech 9-0
Tiffin (2-9) fell 9-0 to
Michigan Tech, with the closest match coming at second doubles. Ashley
Hershner/Taylor Cooper fell 7-9 in a narrow match, while Erika Bailey/Beth Clark
fell at third doubles in another close one 4-8. All the singles losses were in
straight sets with the closest match coming at third and fourth singles where
Taylor Cooper and Jessie Stefanov each lost 4-6, 2-6.
Dragons fall to Lake Superior State 7-2
Tiffin (2-8) dropped a 7-2
decision to Lake Superior State, a loss that effectively eliminates the Dragons
from the GLIAC tourney. TU's two wins came at first and second doubles, as
Teauana Long/Jessie Stefanov won 8-4 and Taylor Cooper/Ashley Hershner won 8-3.
TU's singles losses were all straight sets except for Stefanov's match at fourth
singles, where she fell 6-7 (4-7), 6-4, 1-6.
Dragons dominate Muskingum 9-0 for second win
Tiffin (2-7) hit the
road to Muskingum and won handily 9-0. The closest match was at sixth singles,
which Melissa Poe won 8-4. Beth Clark and Ashley Hershner won 8-3 matches, while
Teauana Long, Jessica Stefanov, and Taylor Cooper all won 8-1. In doubles,
Long/Stefanov and Hershner/Cooper won in 8-0 shutouts, while Erika Bailey/Beth
Clark won at third doubles 8-2.
Northwood dispatches Dragons 9-0
Tiffin (1-7) ran into the
unbeaten Northwood women's tennis squad Sunday, falling 9-0. Melissa Poe had the
closest match of the day, falling at sixth singles 3-6, 2-6. The Timberwolves
dominated play, losing just 9 games over 15 sets and 9 matches.
Dragons fall to Cardinals in GLIAC matchup 8-1
Tiffin (1-6)
mustered just one win in their GLIAC matchup with Saginaw Valley State, falling
8-1 at home. The doubles team of Taylor Cooper/Ashley Hershner notched a 8-5 win
at second doubles, while Teauana Long lost a close first singles match 1-6, 5-7
and Hershner fell in a narrow second singles match 0-6, 6-1, 8-10.
Dragons lose to GLIAC rival Ashland 8-1
Tiffin (1-5) posted a win
at second doubles from the team of Ashley Hershner/Taylor Cooper, winning a
tough match 8-6, but could manage no more as TU fell to Ashland 8-1. Jessie
Stefanov fell in a competitive match at third singles 5-7, 0-6, while the other
singles matches were straight set losses.
Dragons fall at Kenyon 7-2
Tiffin (1-4) got a pair of wins from
Taylor Cooper but could manage no more as they fell on the road at Kenyon 7-2.
Cooper won at third singles 6-2, 6-3 and teamed with Ashley Hershner at second
doubles to win 8-4. Beth Clark/Erika Bailey fell at third doubles 4-8, while the
other singles losses were all straight set defeats.
Dragons get first win with 9-0 shutout of Bluffton
Tiffin (1-3)
dominated play all day long in a 9-0 shutout of visiting Bluffton, opening the
day with three straight 8-0 wins in doubles play. Teauana Long/Jessica Stefanov,
Ashley Hershner/Taylor Cooper, and Erika Bailey/Beth Clark won their matches,
while Long, Hershner, Cooper, Stefanov, Clark, and Melissa Poe all won straight
set singles matches. The closest victory came at sixth singles for Poe, as she
beat her opponent 6-3, 6-4.
Dragons fall 6-3 at Findlay
Tiffin (0-3) fell 6-3 at Findlay
Sunday, picking up wins at second singles by Ashley Hershner and at both first
and second doubles. Hershner's singles win was a tough one, as she pulled out a
6-3, 4-6, 10-8 victory. She also teamed with Taylor Cooper at second doubles to
win 8-3, while Teauana Long/Jessica Stefanov also won at first doubles 8-6. TU
lost two close matches that cost them the overall victory, as Long fell at first
singles 1-6, 7-5, (4-10) and Erika Bailey/Beth Clark fell at third doubles 5-8.
