Dragons sign three recruits early

Tiffin University will look to build on last year’s success with the addition of three regional standouts. Brooke Bernabei is a 5’8" outside hitter from Glen Oak High School in Canton, Ohio. Bernabei earned Second Team All-District, All-County, and All-League in 2004, First Team honors in 2005, and in her senior season was named Federal League Player of the Year, Stark County Player of the Year, and the Stark County All-Star Game MVP. She earned four varsity letters in volleyball and three in track and field. "Brooke has the confidence and determination to excel on the court no matter what the obstacle. She can outplay and outsmart the biggest and best of opponents," said Coach Shouse. Rachel Hebberd is a 5’10" outside/middle hitter from North Branch High School in Michigan. She was a Second Team All-Conference selection in 2005 & 2006, and also made the All-Region team last year. She has earned four varsity letters in both volleyball and basketball. "Rachel is a versatile hitter that is comfortable anywhere on the floor. Once she adjusts to the college game, the sky is the limit for her potential," said Shouse. Amanda Marquadt is a 5’8" libero from Northville High School in Michigan. She was an All-Area and All-Conference player during her junior year, helping lead Northville to a WLAA Western Division Championship. Says Coach Shouse, "After watching Amanda for one practice, I knew she had the qualities of a solid collegiate defender: smart, aggressive, smooth, and on top of that, she truly enjoys playing the game." This is Coach Shouse’s first recruiting class as a head coach, and one that he hopes will help sustain the success of the program. "I’m proud to have these three young women represent Tiffin University for the next four years, and can’t wait to get them in the gym and work with them on a daily basis," said Shouse.
