What Is TU’s Co-Curricular Program?
The Tiffin University Co-Curricular Program provides
personal development and service learning opportunities for
students. TU is committed to education both in the classroom as
well as in the “real world” – on campus, through
work experiences, and through volunteer experiences. The purpose of
a college education is to develop into a well- rounded, educated
individual. To help facilitate this development process, Tiffin
University requires all bachelor’s degree students to
participate in the Co-Curricular Program.
What Are The Co-Curricular
Requirements?
One of Tiffin University’s graduation requirements for students is completion of a total of 26 hours of Co-Curricular credit. Students must earn one unit of Co-Curricular credit for personal development (13 hours), and one unit of credit for service learning (13 hours).
All activities must be completed on a volunteer basis, and not required by an employer, professor, or coach. Certain activities such as babysitting, craft and make-up parties, and planning weddings will not be considered for credit. Also, compensation cannot be received for participation.
Information about the seminars, workshops, activities, and projects that qualify for Co-Curricular Credit may be obtained from the Director of Student Development.
What About Adult Students Returning To School?
Students who have earned 50 hours or more of transferable credit prior to enrolling at Tiffin University, or who are 23 years of age or older prior to enrolling at Tiffin University, may satisfy the Co-Curricular requirement by submitting a Co-Curricular Credit Waiver Form to the Co-Curricular Committee. You should describe previous involvement in personal development and service learning activities.

How To Register Your Co-Curricular Hours:

The Co-Curricular Information Sheets, which are available in the Student Affairs Office and online, must be completed at the activity site and signed by the site supervisor. The sheets must then be returned to the Student Affairs Office for approval and recording.
