Criminal Justice & Social Sciences
International Criminal Justice Development Conference
September 13-15, 2012
The conference goal is to bring together people with varying expertise who can assist Tiffin University in identifying core competency areas and with curriculum development for a credible master-level program in international policing. The conference consists of several breakout sessions, in which small groups of attendees will discuss specific subjects concerning the needs of the program, in conjunction with plenary sessions, which will be used to align suggestions into competency areas. The plenary sessions are set up as guided panel sessions where expert panel members can discuss specific topics back and forth with audience members. This type of program is important because though there are excellent training programs for international police officers, there is little in the way of graduate education. The program will therefore provide an important basis for international police education into the future. This conference is co-sponsored by the Tiffin University School of Criminal Justice, the Tiffin University Center for Justice and Security, and the Ohio Council on Criminal Justice Education.
