If you qualify, grants and scholarships can help ease the cost of your Tiffin University education. Grants and scholarships are available in many areas, from many providers. Listed below are just a few of your grant and scholarship options. For more information on whether you're eligible for these real resources, please contact us in The Financial Aid Office. What are Grants?

Grants are forms of financial aid you do not repay! Generally you must be an undergraduate student, and the amount you receive depends on your need, cost of attendance, and your enrollment status.


Federal Pell Grant:

  • Available exclusively to undergraduates
  • Determined by your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant:

  • Available exclusively to undergraduates
  • Requires exceptional financial need
  • Priority is given to Federal Pell Grant recipients.
  • Funds depend on availability.

What are Scholarships?

A scholarship is a sum of money or other aid granted to a student because of merit, need, or other reasons to pursue his or her studies. Unlike loans, scholarship money awarded does not have to be repaid.

Academic Scholarships:

Trustee: $11,000
President: $10,000
Dean: $7,000
Achievement: $4,500

Academic scholarships are awarded to full-time on campus students during their freshman year.  Students must maintain a 2.50 cumulative grade point average keep the Trustees and Presidents Scholarship and a 2.0 cumulative grade point average to maintain the Deans and Achievement Scholarship.

Athletic Scholarships: Tiffin University offers athletic scholarships for intercollegiate sports in the areas of baseball, basketball, cross-country, football, golf, soccer, softball, tennis, track and field, volleyball, and equestrian based on your athletic ability.

Activity Scholarships: Tiffin University offers generous scholarships for Cheerleading, Theatre Performance, and membership in the Music Industry program in either vocal or instrumental ensemble.

Fraternal Order of Police Scholarship: New students enrolled in TU's Bachelor of Criminal Justice (BCJ) Online and Off Campus Program, Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) Online and Off Campus Program, or Graduate Degree Program may receive a Fraternal Order of Police scholarship. Students must provide a copy of their FOP membership ID card to receive this discount.

Eligible students may receive the following:

  • Graduate Degree Students : $250 per credit hour
  • Online and Off Campus Program Students : $150 per credit hour

Military Discount

A serving member of the armed forces and spouses of active military, including the Armed Forces Reserve and National Guard, will be eligible to receive a discount from Tiffin University. A copy of an active military ID card for the serving member or letter from the Education Officer stating that you or the spouse is an active military member must be provided in order to receive this discount.

Eligible students may receive the following:

  • Graduate Degree Students : $250 per credit hour
  • Online and Off Campus Program Students : $150 per credit hour
  • Associate Degree Students : $50 per credit hour

Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship

Full time students who are a member of Phi Theta Kappa will be eligible to receive $500 per semester from Tiffin University. Members must provide a copy of their certificate.

STUDENTS INTERESTED IN ATTENDING TU through the Tuition Exchange, Inc. Scholarship Program.

Students whose parent(s) works for another college or university may be eligible to apply for Tuition Exchange Scholarship. This scholarship application process must be initiated through the Tuition Exchange liaison at his/her sponsor college (parent's employer). The tuition award at Tiffin University is $19,124 for 2011-2012. A list of participating institutions can be found at the Tuition Exchange, Inc. website

The Tuition Exchange process is totally separate from the admissions process. Tiffin University Admissions information may be obtained by contacting the Office of Admissions, 800-968-6446 or by visiting the TU website,

To be considered for other types of financial aid, we recommend that you file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Students receiving a Tuition Exchange award are required to file the FAFSA.

Outside Scholarships: These are scholarships offered that students may obtain through outside sources.
