• FINANCIAL AID ESTIMATOR

  • The financial aid estimator will help you estimate your eligibility for federal, state and university sponsored aid for full-time, undergraduate students who have never been to college. The estimator is based on federal calculations of your Estimated Family Contribution (EFC), and the tuition and fees for Tiffin University. The estimator is not an application for financial aid. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid, FAFSA, is required to apply for federal, state and university sponsored financial aid.

The results here should be used only as an estimate. Incomplete information will affect the quality of the results. All results are based on tuition and scholarship information for the 2011-2012 academic school year. If you have further questions or concerns about the financial aid estimator please contact the financial aid office at 1-800-968-6446, ext. 3279.

I have read and understand that this is only an estimate of financial aid. I understand that I must still complete a FAFSA form to determine my financial aid eligibility. I understand that this estimate is based on the estimated numbers I supply.

  • Dependency Status

  • This form is used to determine whether you are a dependent student or an independent student according to the Federal Need Analysis Methodology.

  • If you answered YES to any of the above questions you are an independent student.

If you answered NO to all the questions above you are a dependent student.

  • A veteran is a student who participated in active service in the US Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, or Coast Guard and was released under a condition other than dishonorable. This includes a student who attended a US military academy but withdrew in good standing, as well as a student who is not a veteran now, but will be a veteran by June 30, 2012. If you are currently serving on active duty in the Armed Forces for other than training purposes, you also qualify as an independent student.

A dependent child does not have to live with you, so long as the child receives more than half of his/her support from you. The child may include a biological or adopted child, or a child for whom you are the legal guardian. Note that generally speaking, if the child meets the 50% support test, the child should be claimed as an exemption on your income tax return.
