Institutional Diversity Scholarships

The Office of Institutional Diversity and the Office of Student Outreach proudly announce the following scholarship opportunities. Please be sure to read carefully through the specific qualifications for each scholarship, as you may qualify for more than one.

1. Dragon Diversity Scholarship - Five $2,000 scholarships will be awarded.

  • Full-time student (scholarship athletes are not eligible)
  • Cumulative G.P.A. of 3.0 or above
  • Open to all majors
  • Domestic under-represented students: women and minority students
  • Active in extra-curricular and co-curricular activities related to diversity
  • Special consideration given to students with financial need

2. Marathon Minority Scholarship- Four $2,500 scholarships will be awarded.

  • Full-time sophomore or junior student
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Business or related major
  • Domestic under-represented students: women and minority students
  • Actively involved in student activities
  • Special consideration given to students with financial need

3. Marathon Diversity Excellence Scholarship- Three $500-1000 scholarships will be awarded.

  • Full-time student
  • Cumulative G.P.A. of 3.2 or above
  • An underrepresented minority student (African American, Hispanic American or Native American) / inclusion of all ethnic/minority groups being eligible
  • Participation in campus or community activities
  • Major in disciplines that are more closely tied to Marathon Petroleum Corporation needs and business
    • Accounting
    • Finance
    • Computer and Information Technology
    • Marketing
    • Human Resources (graduate level only)
    • Homeland Security/Terrorism
    • Law Enforcement

Students interested in applying for ANY of the above scholarships must complete the following:

  1. Application (form attached)
  2. Written essay describing how your experience contributes to diversity at Tiffin University (200-500 words, typed)
  3. Two references, both utilizing attached form:
    • One Faculty reference
    • One Organization Advisor reference

All supporting documentation and application must be submitted in a sealed envelope directly to the Office of Institutional Diversity (Attn: Dr. Sharon Perry- Nause) by 5:00 pm on Friday, April 5th of the academic year in question.
