Admission Requirements


Admission Process

To receive your Form I-20 for a visa interview, you will be required to submit copies of the following documents.

Upon receipt of all required application documents, the Admission Committee will evaluate your application to determine your eligibility to enroll at Tiffin University. Your application is considered incomplete and cannot be reviewed until all required documents have been received.

Once admitted, Tiffin University will mail your Form I-20 within 7-14 business days to the mailing address listed on your Affidavit of Financial Support Form.

Application Deadlines
The application deadline for the August (Fall) intake is July 15th. The application deadline for the January (Spring) intake is November 15th.

Undergraduate (Bachelor's) Applicant Instructions

Minimum Requirements for Undergraduate Admission

  1. Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent, or graduation from an accredited associates degree program, or currently attending an accredited undergraduate associates/bachelors degree program.
  2. For freshman applicants, GPA 2.25. For transfer applicants, GPA 2.0
  3. Satisfactory TOEFL score (500 PBT/61 iBT) or IELTS score 5 or iTEP score of 3.4

*Applicants who are unable to meet the language proficiency standards or who do not have proof of proficiency can receive a Conditional Acceptance, and attend our English as a Second Language program, which is our on campus English language institute. To apply for admission to Tiffin University, please submit the following documents:

  1. Completed Application Form http://www.tiffin.edu/forms/internationalapp/
  2. Freshmen Students - Request that all secondary schools or examination boards send original or attested copies of all transcripts, diplomas, mark sheets, and certificates directly to Tiffin University in an official, sealed envelope. In addition, where the original documents are not issued in English, also provide an official English translation of each document. Tiffin University will not accept scanned or notarized copies.
  3. Transfer Students - Request that all secondary schools, colleges, or universities attended, and examination boards send original or attested copies of all transcripts, diplomas, mark sheets, and certificates directly to Tiffin University in an official, sealed envelope. In addition, where the original documents are not issued in English, also provide an official English translation of each document. Tiffin University will not accept scanned or notarized copies.
  4. Proof of financial responsibility-Proof of liquid assets sufficient to pay for the entire first year of study and living expenses. Athletes who will receive an athletic scholarship may deduct the amount of scholarship from the total cost of attendance and submit evidence of financial resources for the remaining balance. All financial documents should be original and stamped or attested by a bank official. Tiffin University will not accept scanned or notarized copies.

    You must demonstrate the ability to pay at least one nine-month academic year of expenses, which we currently estimate at $34,158 for undergraduate students. This includes tuition, housing, meals, and health insurance. Please review the Tiffin University fee schedule by clicking here

  5. Copy of your passport

The International Admissions Office reserves the right to request that any applicant be required to submit an academic credential evaluation from an external service provider.

Graduate (Master's) Applicant Instructions

Minimum Requirements for Graduate Admission

  1. A bachelor's degree or a three-year undergraduate professional degree from an accredited higher education institution, or currently attending an accredited MBA program.
  2. Undergraduate academic achievement of 3.0 GPA
  3. Resume/CV
  4. A clear goal for pursuing graduate studies (stated in a personal statement)
  5. For MBA applicants, successful completion of undergraduate courses in at least eight of the following subject areas: Marketing, Business Finance, Accounting, Management, Legal Environment, Economics, Business Ethics, Global Dimension, Information Systems, Statistics/mathematics, Business Policy.
  6. Satisfactory TOEFL score (550 PBT/79-80 iBT) or IELTS score 6 or iTEP score of 3.9

*Room and Board is based on a campus double room for undergraduate students or a campus apartment for graduate student and unlimited meals per week. Costs stated herein are subject to change without prior notice. Freshman, sophomores, and juniors must live in campus housing, unless, 24 years of age or older.

**Books and supplies are not included in these calculations. You should estimate to pay approximately $1,000 per academic year (two semesters) for books and supplies.

Payment Due Dates

Students must pay their school fees in full or sign up for a Tiffin University payment plan before the end of the first week of each semester. The International Admissions Office will provide assistance at orientation to make a payment or enroll in a payment.

Important To Note

DO NOT enter the U.S. on a visitor (tourist) visa (B-2), unless it is designated "Prospective Student" by the Consular Officer. The U.S. Immigration Service rarely authorizes a change in status from B-2 to F-1, and you will be required to return home to do so.
