HOUSING AND MEAL PLAN DESCRIPTIONS
Residence Hall: (See the picture of Kirk Hall below) Residence Halls are a dormitory where students live during the academic year. In these halls are singles, one (1) student per room, doubles, two (2) students per room and quads, four (4) students per room.
House Unit: (See the picture of 193 Jackson Street below) Tiffin University owns an assortment of houses that surround the campus. These houses have been converted into living facilities for students. They are smaller than residence halls, housing 5 – 15 students.
19 Meal / Board Plan: This plan guarantees a student three (3) meals a day Monday through Friday and two (2) meals each Saturday and Sunday, plus $25 to use in the `al a cart on their Student ID.
14 Meal / Board Plan: This plan guarantees students two (2) meals each day.

Kirk Hall houses 85students, both male and female. Tiffin University has 6 Residence Halls to house students.

193 Jackson Street is one of our House Units. We can house 14 students both male and female here. The University owns several houses. Some of these houses, like the International House, are based around a theme.
Tiffin University Policies and Procedures:
The University reserves the right to do the following:
To require all traditional age full-time students to live on campus and participate in the food service program, during their first, second, and third years of attendance. All freshmen who will be sophomores during the upcoming year are required to live on campus and participate in Food Service. There will be an automatic billing for Residence Life for the second year. Students are offered the opportunity to select rooms, roommates and residence halls for the upcoming academic year.
Allow authorized personal to enter any room at any time by authorized personnel.
Change or cancel assignments in the interests of health, safety, discipline, or other reasons as deemed appropriate.
Change rates after due notice to the student.
Levy and collect charges and fines.
Allow rooms to be used by other persons during vacation periods.
Assign any reasonable number of students to a room without an adjustment in housing charges.
The University will provide a bed, mattress, dresser, and closet space for each student. Access to laundry equipment will be available. (Students are required to provide bedding, including pillow, sheets/bedding for a twin extra long bed, and draperies or mini-blinds.) Students can also provide personal articles to individualize their living space.
The general maintenance of all housing is the responsibility of the people who live there. The University provides cleaning supplies and equipment to assist the residents with this task. The University’s maintenance staff handles any repairs or equipment problems in the residences. Residents in houses are expected to schedule and keep up on housekeeping chores. Cleanliness of the house and individual rooms in the residence halls is the responsibility of the residents.
Tiffin University requires all International students who are not freshman or sophomore status to live on campus for at least one semester. All requests to move off campus must be made through the Office of Residence Life.
If a student has a relative that lives in Tiffin or the surrounding area, they may request alternate living arrangements by contacting the Office of Residence Life for an application at moomawk@tiffin.edu
Residence Withdrawals
1. If a student withdraws from the University, he or she is liable for the room and board charges for the full semester/year.
2. A student is required to vacate his/her room within six hours or other agreed upon reasonable length of time after his/her dismissal from Tiffin University.
3. Withdrawals must be reported to the Director of Residence Life.
4. UPON THE COMPLETION OF THE FILING OF THE HOUSING/BOARD CONTRACT, A SPACE WILL BE RESERVED FOR THE STUDENT AND THE STUDENT MUST PAY THE ROOM FEE FOR THE FULL ACADEMIC SEMESTER. If the student withdraws from the University or moves off campus without permission after the beginning of the semester, that student must pay the full semester room fee. Students wishing to move off campus must receive written permission from the Off Campus Living Committee, otherwise all charges stand.
