New Student Arrival Information
New Student Arrival & Orientation
Arriving on campus for your first semester at Tiffin University is one of the final steps in the journey towards becoming an international degree-seeking student in the United States. The information below outlines some important dates and things to consider as you prepare for your arrival in Tiffin. We look forward to seeing you on campus soon!
When to Arrive on Campus
Federal regulations indicate that students may arrive in the U.S. no more than 30 days prior to the program start date indicated on the I-20 form. Tiffin University, however, is not able to accommodate incoming international students any earlier than five (5) days before the January program start date and ten (10) days before the August program start date. Some students, including athletes and performing arts participants, may be required to arrive earlier than this date, which is permissible. Arrival information for athletes and performing arts students will be communicated directly from the respective coach or director.
What to Bring to Campus
As you prepare to arrive on campus, you will certainly have a good deal of packing to do. With your International Student Information Packet, you should have received valuable information regarding the climate in Tiffin, as well as some other helpful tips to help you prepare. For more information on what to bring and what not to bring to campus, please visit the Residence Life webpage. Student will be provided transportation to local stores multiple times during orientation to purchase any items that are too large to pack.
Arriving at the Airport
Tiffin University provides free airport transportation to its international students. We highly recommend that students choose to fly into Detroit Metro Airport (DTW). Alternative airports include Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) and Port Columbus International Airport (CMH). In order to utilize this service, you must complete the Student Travel Itinerary form and submit it to the International Admissions Office at email@example.com. We request that you submit this form as early as possible (no later than 7 days prior to your arrival at the airport).
Check-In at Tiffin University
Upon arrival to the University, your first stop will be the International Student Services Office in Friedley Hall. All students must check in by 8:00 a.m. (EST) by Thursday, January 7, 2016. We will then begin the mandatory orientation program.
