Tiffin University Names Leon Wyden As New VP for Finance and Administration

TIFFIN UNIVERSITY, TIFFIN, OH— Tiffin University has named Leon Wyden as its new Vice President for Finance and Administration, effective July 1, 2012.

Mr. Wyden currently serves as Associate Vice President of Finance and Planning at Upper Iowa University, which enrolls approximately 7,000 students in master's, bachelor's and associate's degree programs at its main campus in Iowa, at a number of academic centers in Iowa and other states, and online.

He is a Certified Public Accountant and previously served as Deputy Controller at Howard University in addition to 28 years in senior finance positions at several companies in Michigan.

He began his career with Ernst and Young in Detroit, and was later recruited to work for the pharmaceutical giant, Johnson & Johnson in New Brunswick, NJ.  He earned his BBA in Accounting from the University of Detroit.

According to Tiffin University President Paul Marion, “Mr. Wyden's extensive experience in senior finance positions in both higher education and the business world will be very valuable to Tiffin University. We are very pleased that he will be joining our leadership team.”

At TU, his duties will include serving as the university’s chief fiscal officer and as a member of the President's Cabinet.  He will also supervise the positions of Director of Facilities, Executive Director of Information Technology Services, Controller, Director of Budgets and External Accounts, Financial Coordinator, and Recreation Center Manager.
