TIFFIN UNIVERSITY, TIFFIN, OH—Tiffin University’s Homecoming will take place the weekend of September 16-18. According to Vickie Wilkins, TU’s Director of Alumni Relations, “Homecoming is a special event that unites students, alumni, faculty, staff, and the Tiffin community, to celebrate Tiffin University and their Dragon Pride!
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 16
The Tiffin University Alumni Association will host the Inaugural Alumni Student Symposium. This dual purpose event will provide involvement and engagement of alumni and will showcase internship opportunities and career development for students.
On Friday evening, TU will host their Athletic Hall of Fame Dinner and Induction Ceremony at 5:30 p.m. in the Heminger Center (350 Miami Street). Tickets are available for $55 per person on a pre-sale basis only. For ticket information: 419.448.3334.
The 2016 Hall of Fame Honorees are: George Whitfield (Football); Rachel Garofolo (Women’s Soccer); Brienne Lemire (Beaschler) (Women’s Basketball); Denita Hursey (Robinson) (Softball); Neal Heacock (Track & Field); President Emeritus Dr. Paul Marion (honorary inductee). Additionally, special recognition will be given to the inaugural women’s soccer team--celebrating 25 years of program history.
Beginning at 7:00 p.m. in The Marion Center, Tiffin University’s Music Department will present Vocalist and Broadway star (Rent, Hairspray) Shayna Steele who will perform with an all-star band led by David Cook, music director and pianist for Taylor Swift. Steele will perform a high-energy show of soul, r&b, jazz and originals. The concert is free and open to the public.
The Official Hall of Fame After-Party starts at 9:00 p.m. All alumni, family, and friends are welcome to attend the Party on the Deck at The Pioneer Mill Restaurant (255 Riverside Drive, Tiffin).
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 17
The day will begin with the 5th Annual Aaron Ciak Golf Scramble at 9:00 a.m. at the Seneca Hills Golf Course. Registration starts at 8:00 a.m. The proceeds from this event go directly to the Aaron Ciak Memorial Scholarship. At 9:00 a.m., there will be a Dragon 5K at the TU Nature Preserve.

Guided Campus Tours are available from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. starting at The Marion Center. The tour includes Main Campus, Murphy Academic Support Center, Pfeiffer Library, Living Learning Community, The Marion Center and the Heminger Center.
There will be an alumni softball game versus the current team at noon at Paradiso Athletic Complex.
Prior to the 3:00 p.m. kick-off of Dragon Football vs. Hillsdale University, the Alumni Office will host a pre-game tailgate party at the Tiffin Frost-Kalnow Stadium parking lot starting at 1:30 p.m. Featured fun includes a food tent, a children’s game tent, a kid’s craft tent, and alumni tent. Pre-game events also include the introduction of the 2016 Athletic Hall of Fame Members. Half-time will feature the introduction of the Homecoming Court, a parade of former Homecoming Royalty, and performances by the TU Marching Band and Choir with special alumni guests including recognition of the inaugural women’s soccer team. Choir and band alumni are invited to join the TU Choir/Band for the National Anthem and Fight Song.
Live Music and a Music Alumni Reception will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the The Marion Center.
