Jeff Beard is President and CEO of SSNB, Inc. and its subsidiary Standing Stone Bank in Lancaster, Ohio. He joined the bank in 2007 and served in the position of Vice President and CFO before becoming President and CEO in January 2013. Beard has also served on the Board for both SSNB, Inc. and Standing Stone Bank since 2011. He started his career as a financial institution auditor with Crowe LLP, followed by a stint at Wendy’s as a manager of financial reporting before joining Standing Stone. Beard was also briefly involved with a start-up bank in central Ohio.

Beard earned his BBA from Tiffin University, MBA from Capital University, is a CPA and completed the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin. He is currently the Chairman of the Fairfield County Foundation Board, Vice Chairman of the Route 33 Development Alliance Board and a member of the Ohio Bankers League Board. Beard has completed the Fairfield Leadership program, is a Lancaster Rotarian and was the 2018 Fairfield County United Way Campaign Chair. He is a former member of the Tiffin University Alumni Board and Board of Counselors, the United Way Impact Council, Lancaster Rotary Board, Big Brothers Big Sisters Board and Ohio Banker League Bank Services Board.

Beard resides in Pickerington, Ohio, with his wife Michelle and their three boys.

Originally from Saginaw, Michigan, Chris Deal, TU Class of 1995, earned a B.S. in Business Administration and three All-American titles as a Dragon on the football field. After graduation, Chris began his professional career as a recruiter with the company Allegis Group, a talent management firm, in Cleveland, Ohio. In his 21 years with Allegis, Chris made a number of geographical moves while moving up in the company, from Account Executive to Sales Manager to Executive Director of Business Operations in Boston, Massachusetts. After 21 years with Allegis Group leading and managing sales, recruiters and technical consultants, Chris retired in 2016. In 2017, Chris returned to the workforce when asked to help a major U.S. retail corporation implement a human capital and contingent workforce program that would result in the implementation of AI (artificial intelligence) and ML (machine learning) to source and screen viable candidates that could be hired globally. In 2018, he joined a U.S. based multinational computer software technology corporation that is the leader in Voice Recognition. Chris joined a global consulting organization as the Vice President of Global Talent Acquisition and Delivery. Chris resides in Boston, Massachusetts, with his wife, Jen, and daughter, Hannah. Chris joined TU’s Board of Trustees in 2020.

Jane Dell is a Managing Partner and Attorney at Dell Burtis Law, Ltd., an estate planning, elder law, business planning and real estate law firm. She has extensive experience planning and administering estates and trusts, protecting assets from long-term care expenses and transferring farms and businesses from one generation to the next. Dell is also a Licensed Title Agent and Owner of Professional Title Services, Ltd. As a licensed title agent, Dell conducts real estate closings, issues title insurance and advises clients on all legal issues related to buying and selling real property.

In addition to Dell’s legal practice, she serves several community organizations. She is a member of the Board of Trustees for the Tiffin-Seneca Public Library, the Good Shepherd Home and the Mary Lay Home. Dell is a former Board member for the Tiffin Community Foundation and Tiffin Calvert Educational Foundation. She has also served on committees for St. Mary’s Church and was an interviewer for the Georgetown University Alumni Admissions Program.

A graduate of Indiana University Maurer School of Law with a Doctor of Jurisprudence, Dell served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Sarah Evans Barker of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana. She also holds a Bachelor of Science from Georgetown University.

Dell resides in Tiffin, Ohio, with her husband and firm partner, Paul Burtis. They have three adult children, Cecilia, Jack and Sophia.

As the leader of ECS, she successfully enables her clients to achieve better cash flow and financial success through quality billing services with a top-notch team.

Dunne has over 36 years of experience in the health insurance and billing industry. Her interest in the field started as she grew up in the pharmacy and nursing homes owned by her parents. Also, one of her first jobs was as a Programmer Analyst and Systems Department Manager for a subsidiary of what is now Anthem. By working in business for this period, Dunne has discovered the importance of continuing education and that universities need to build strong partnerships with businesses in their communities.

Dunne is a philanthropist that cares about people and her community. She holds a Bachelor of Science from Heidelberg University, where she completed a double major in business administration and computer science. She is a frequent seminar presenter and trainer related to Skilled Nursing Facility revenue cycle topics due to her success and insight in this industry. Dunne has served on the HIDA Consolidated Billing Task Force, the Ohio Health Care Association Payment for Services Committee and OHCA Billing Subcommittee. She was founder and Chairman of the Medicaid Initiative for LTC and was Chairman of the OANH Billing Subcommittee.

Dr. Richard Helton served 47 years in public education, including 11 years as President of Vincennes University prior to his retirement in 2015. Most recently, he completed an 18-month term as Interim President of Wittenberg University. Upon his Indiana retirement, he received the honorary Sagamore of the Wabash award from the Indiana Governor’s Office for rendering distinguished service to the state. Cited as a “transformational leader,” he led VU to eight years of continuous growth culminating in system-wide headcount enrollment that surpassed 19,000 students. He also was a leader in developing an ever-growing number of partnerships with major employers, secondary schools and career centers, armed forces and communities. Far beyond the borders of Indiana, VU’s Military Education Program continued to grow, making VU the number one provider of education aboard deployed U.S. Coast Guard Cutters, the third-largest provider of educational services to the U.S. Coast Guard, and one of the largest providers to the military in the nation. Helton is a graduate of Indiana State University with a Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Leadership, plus both a master’s degree in secondary education and an educational specialist degree from Indiana University. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in secondary education from Hanover College. Helton joined TU’s Board of Trustees in 2018.

An alumnus of Tiffin University, Bill and his late wife Jean Grady Hertzer, also a TU graduate, donated gifts creating the Hertzer Technology Center in 2004 and the newly named William F. Hertzer Department of Accounting and Finance in 2018. Hertzer has served on the boards of Heidelberg Beach Homeowners Association and Tiffin Rangers, was a Council member at First Lutheran Church, and a past Junior Achievement Advisor. Lisa Hohman was named the CEO of Concordance Healthcare Solutions in 2019 and calls Tiffin her home. With a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Heidelberg University, Lisa began her career in the distribution industry in 1992, working for AmeriSource Bergen in IT Support and was named Vice President of National Accounts for AmeriSource before leaving to join Seneca Medical in 2000. When Seneca Medical merged with Kreisers and MMS, a medical supply company, to form Concordance in 2016, Lisa remained the Chief Strategy Officer and used her diverse background to coordinate company growth and strategic initiatives. Lisa is currently the HIDA HEF Board Chair, as well as a SMI Advisory Board Member and was awarded the 2019 PWH Leadership of Distinction Award. When asked what her biggest personal goal is as CEO, Lisa states that she will continue to provide a stable and positive work environment for the employees and the customers. In addition, her goals are to continue the measured growth and expansion of Concordance’s offerings in order to provide exemplary service to the healthcare provider which allows them to provide the optimal care for the patients they serve. When outside the office, Lisa loves to travel and camp and attends a variety of her children’s sporting events and extra-curricular activities. DeAnn Krauss has held various leadership roles in her career as a Human Resources Director and Plant Manager in both the manufacturing and healthcare industries. Her experience in Human Resources spans over 26 years, including being part of the original team at Taiho Corporation of America, the first Japanese company in Tiffin, Ohio. Her expertise includes working with various government agencies, vendor negotiations, establishing office practices and procedures, and creating HR policies. In 2010, Bobby and a partner formed Platinum Purchasing, a procurement management company that manages approximately $18 million in annual spending. Bobby is actively involved in the communities he serves through memberships in various chambers of commerce and assisted living associations. He was bestowed TU's Young Alumni Achievement Award in 2013 (presented to a graduate for outstanding leadership in his profession and community, bringing honor to TU and demonstrating the promise of further distinction). He remains connected to the University through mentoring and networking activities for students and established the Annual Aaron Ciak Memorial Golf Outing which raises scholarship funds for TU students while memorializing a former friend and classmate. Dr. Lillian “Lil” Schumacher took the helm as Tiffin University’s Interim President on January 11, 2016 and was named President just five months later on June 8, 2016.  Prior to her presidency, she has been an integral part of the University since 2010, first as Dean of the School of Business and more recently as Vice President for Academic Affairs.

“Tiffin University and the City of Tiffin have been part of my family for over 30 years,” Schumacher said.  “TU is a great institution in a fine city and I am thrilled to continue its tradition of success.  We have a supportive and engaged Board of Trustees, an exceptional faculty and staff who believe in student success, and an outstanding, diverse student body that expects the best from us.  With these strengths, we will achieve great things.”

A natural leader who has experience and academic training in leadership, Dr. Schumacher has more than 30 years of expertise in higher education and corporate environments in areas of program development, assessment, accreditation, teaching, strategic planning, budget preparation and administration, staff selection and evaluation, and fundraising.  As a professor of management, she has designed and taught courses and workshops in the areas of organizational behavior and change, strategy, leadership, entrepreneurship, communication, career mapping, human resources, international business and global leadership, and other related disciplines.

With over 20 years of serving as an organizational consultant in areas of leadership development, executive coaching, strategic planning, human resources, career coaching and change management, Dr. Schumacher believes in an organizational culture that embraces mutual respect, accountability, intentional actions, diversity, inclusion and clear decision-making aligned with organizational values.

She has demonstrated her ability to manage and advocate change processes in higher educational and corporate settings, and is a highly motivated, results-oriented professional with an approachable leadership style and a strong work ethic marked by dedication, initiative, integrity and professionalism.

During her short time as President, she has established a Celebrating Cultural Uniqueness commitment, which assures students, employers and our community that TU graduates, regardless of their area of specialty, are innovative problem-solvers who can leverage diversity of any type to work effectively with people who are different from them and produce innovative ideas.  She has also reinstituted Tiffin University’s 5-year strategic planning process including “Guiding Principles,” which very clearly state TU’s strategic priorities, purpose, mission and vision along with ICARE values.  In addition, she led the effort in raising $8 million, after a $4 million donor match, within her first 18 months in the job.

Prior to returning to Tiffin with her family in 2010, President Schumacher was an Associate Professor and founding Director of the Ph.D. in Global Leadership program at Indiana Tech in Fort Wayne, Indiana.  She served as the first Director of Assessment and Institutional Effectiveness at Chancellor University in Cleveland, Ohio and prior to that, she was an Assistant Professor in the Keith Busse School of Business and Entrepreneurial Leadership at the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne, where she also served as the Graduate Program Director and Assessment Coordinator for the school.

In the private sector, President Schumacher is a trained facilitator and executive coach specializing in the Emotional and Social Competency Inventory (ESCI), DISC Personal Profile Systems and Franklin Covey’s Four Disciplines of Execution.  She has consulted with both national and international companies.

Dr. Schumacher serves as board director for Webster Industries and the Tiffin-Seneca Economic Partnership.  She is past president of the Industrial Management Council and has served in various leadership positions for the Accreditation Council for Business Schools & Programs (ACBSP). She is also on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (NAICU), the Association for Independent Colleges and Universities in Ohio (AICUO), the Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges (OFIC) and the Ohio Campus Compact (OCC).

A true Renaissance woman who knows that technology has placed the world at our fingertips, President Schumacher is actively involved in the global aspect of education, having served as a board member for the European Council for Business Education (ECBE) until December 2016.  She is now striving to integrate global diversity into curricular and extra-curricular experiences for all Tiffin University students.

President Schumacher holds a Doctorate in Leadership Studies and Master’s degrees in Organization Development and Higher Education Administration, all from Bowling Green State University.  She earned a Bachelor degree in Economics from Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania.

Although she has lived and traveled extensively in the Middle East, Europe and Asia, President Schumacher is happy to call Tiffin her home.

President Schumacher brings a high degree of accountability to ensure creative, stimulating and positive environments to her position at Tiffin University.

Since May 2018, Sam Strausbaugh is the CEO and equity owner of Case Pacer located in Indianapolis, Indiana. Case Pacer is a software business that provides case management solutions for the legal industry. In addition, Mr. Strausbaugh founded Strausbaugh Consulting, LLC in July 2011 to assist clients in managing their respective businesses. He specializes in performance management, strategic planning, acquisition and merger assistance, and financial modeling. He continues to service selective clients in this business. Since 2016 Mr. Strausbaugh has also been active in his investment business, investing in more than 20 businesses. In 2011, Mr. Strausbaugh acquired a commercial roofing business, JB Roofing of Tiffin. In December of 2016, the business was sold to Tecta American, a roofing platform business with a national footprint. Mr. Strausbaugh currently serves on the First Federal Bank Board of Directors. Strausbaugh joined TU’s Board of Trustees in 2020.

Richard Zydonik Jr.

Richard Zydonik is Chief Commercial Officer for Rowmark, LLC and is responsible for business development in new geographic regions and markets, as well as global sales for the Rowmark extruded sheet division. He has been with Rowmark since 2000 and has served in several roles, including his most recent as Vice President of Sales and Marketing. His team of domestic and international sales and marketing members achieved double-digit revenue growth for 15 years. He is also actively involved in company acquisitions, having completed 12 since 2002. Prior to Rowmark, Zydonik spent more than fifteen years working for the founding manufacturers of rotary engraving and laser marking systems where his responsibilities included operations oversight, worldwide sales, and general manager. Rich attributes much of his leadership and technical skills to his time serving in the United States Marine Corps where he received training in ground-to-ground and ground-to-air electronic and communications maintenance. Zydonik joined TU’s Board of Trustees in 2019.
