Robert Baxter

Bob Baxter is the President of Mercy Health North for Bon Secours Mercy Health, the largest health system in Ohio.  As a leader in Northwest Ohio, Baxter oversees strategy and operations for eight hospitals, one college, and more than 100 sites of care across Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan.  The Northwest Ohio Markets employ more than 5,500 staff and 400 providers, experiences more than 47,000 admissions, and has net operating revenue of greater than $1 billion.

Baxter previously served as the President and CEO, St. Rita’s Health Partners and Senior Vice President, Mercy Health which included two hospitals, four physician joint ventures and a wholly owned physician enterprise. Prior to joining Mercy Health, Baxter served as the Chief Operating Officer at Rapid City Regional Hospital in South Dakota.

He received his bachelor’s degree from The University of South Dakota in Vermillion, South Dakota.  He received a MBA and a MA in Hospital and Health Administration from The University of Iowa.

Baxter is a member of the Board of Directors for the Ohio Chamber of Commerce, Regional Growth Partnership, United Way of Greater Toledo, and ConnectToledo Downtown Development Corporation.
He previously served as a delegate to the American Hospital Association (AHA) Regional Policy Board, a member of the ACHE Chapters Committee, President of the South Dakota Healthcare Executive Group, and received the ACHE Early Career Healthcare Executives Regent’s Award

Jeff Beard is President and CEO of SSNB, Inc. and its subsidiary Standing Stone Bank in Lancaster, Ohio. He joined the bank in 2007 and served in the position of Vice President and CFO before becoming President and CEO in January 2013. Beard has also served on the Board for both SSNB, Inc. and Standing Stone Bank since 2011. He started his career as a financial institution auditor with Crowe LLP, followed by a stint at Wendy’s as a manager of financial reporting before joining Standing Stone. Beard was also briefly involved with a start-up bank in central Ohio.

Beard earned his BBA from Tiffin University, MBA from Capital University, is a CPA and completed the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin. He is currently the Chairman of the Fairfield County Foundation Board, Vice Chairman of the Route 33 Development Alliance Board and a member of the Ohio Bankers League Board. Beard has completed the Fairfield Leadership program, is a Lancaster Rotarian and was the 2018 Fairfield County United Way Campaign Chair. He is a former member of the Tiffin University Alumni Board and Board of Counselors, the United Way Impact Council, Lancaster Rotary Board, Big Brothers Big Sisters Board and Ohio Banker League Bank Services Board.

After graduation, Chris began his professional career as a recruiter with the company Allegis Group, a talent management firm, in Cleveland, Ohio. In his 21 years with Allegis, Chris made a number of geographical moves while moving up in the company, from Account Executive to Sales Manager to Executive Director of Business Operations in Boston, Massachusetts. After 21 years with Allegis Group leading and managing sales, recruiters and technical consultants, Chris retired in 2016. In 2017, Chris returned to the workforce when asked to help a major U.S. retail corporation implement a human capital and contingent workforce program that would result in the implementation of AI (artificial intelligence) and ML (machine learning) to source and screen viable candidates that could be hired globally. In 2018, he joined a U.S. based multinational computer software technology corporation that is the leader in Voice Recognition. Chris joined a global consulting organization as the Vice President of Global Talent Acquisition and Delivery. Chris resides in Boston, Massachusetts, with his wife, Jen, and daughter, Hannah. Chris joined TU’s Board of Trustees in 2020.

Dell is also a Licensed Title Agent and Owner of Professional Title Services, Ltd. As a licensed title agent, Dell conducts real estate closings, issues title insurance and advises clients on all legal issues related to buying and selling real property.

In addition to Dell’s legal practice, she serves several community organizations. She is a member of the Board of Trustees for the Tiffin-Seneca Public Library, the Good Shepherd Home and the Mary Lay Home. Dell is a former Board member for the Tiffin Community Foundation and Tiffin Calvert Educational Foundation. She has also served on committees for St. Mary’s Church and was an interviewer for the Georgetown University Alumni Admissions Program.

A graduate of Indiana University Maurer School of Law with a Doctor of Jurisprudence, Dell served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Sarah Evans Barker of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana. She also holds a Bachelor of Science from Georgetown University.

Dunne has over 36 years of experience in the health insurance and billing industry. Her interest in the field started as she grew up in the pharmacy and nursing homes owned by her parents. Also, one of her first jobs was as a Programmer Analyst and Systems Department Manager for a subsidiary of what is now Anthem. By working in business for this period, Dunne has discovered the importance of continuing education and that universities need to build strong partnerships with businesses in their communities.

Dunne is a philanthropist that cares about people and her community. She holds a Bachelor of Science from Heidelberg University, where she completed a double major in business administration and computer science. She is a frequent seminar presenter and trainer related to Skilled Nursing Facility revenue cycle topics due to her success and insight in this industry. Donald Hampton Jr. (Donnie) joined Pace Industries as President and Chief Executive Officer in June 2020. Previously, Donnie was as an executive officer delivering more than two decades of global leadership for premier companies such as Honeywell International /Allied Signal, Maxion Wheels/Hayes Lemmerz, Rea Magnet Wire Company and Faurecia. Throughout his previous roles he ignited revenue and profit growth, equity value creation, and world-class standards of operational excellence.


He began his professional career with Allied Signal in Fostoria, Ohio as a Supervisor at their spark plug plant. After holding several roles with increasing responsibility at Allied Signal, Donnie joined Hayes Lemmerz International in Detroit, Michigan as the Director of Operational Excellence for North America. He progressed through various leadership roles including: Vice President-North America, Vice President and General Manager – North and South America, and Vice President of Global Manufacturing. He left Hayes Lemmerz to assume the role of Vice President and Chief Operations Officer of Rea Magnet Wire in Fort Wayne, Indiana. After two years at Rea Magnet Wire, he joined Faurecia in 2016 as the President North America Interiors Division.


Donnie was born and raised in Fostoria, Ohio and is a graduate of Fostoria High School. Mr. Hampton is also a veteran of eight years with two branches of service having served in the Army National Guard and with the United States Navy in Atsugi, Japan. He earned both his BBA in Accounting and an MBA from Tiffin University in Tiffin, Ohio, and is a member of the Board of Trustees of that institution.

Dr. Richard Helton served 47 years in public education, including 11 years as President of Vincennes University prior to his retirement in 2015. Most recently, he completed an 18-month term as Interim President of Wittenberg University. Upon his Indiana retirement, he received the honorary Sagamore of the Wabash award from the Indiana Governor’s Office for rendering distinguished service to the state. Cited as a “transformational leader,” he led VU to eight years of continuous growth culminating in system-wide headcount enrollment that surpassed 19,000 students. He also was a leader in developing an ever-growing number of partnerships with major employers, secondary schools and career centers, armed forces and communities. Far beyond the borders of Indiana, VU’s Military Education Program continued to grow, making VU the number one provider of education aboard deployed U.S. Coast Guard Cutters, the third-largest provider of educational services to the U.S. Coast Guard, and one of the largest providers to the military in the nation. Helton is a graduate of Indiana State University with a Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Leadership, plus both a master’s degree in secondary education and an educational specialist degree from Indiana University. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in secondary education from Hanover College. Helton joined TU’s Board of Trustees in 2018.

William Hertzer retired as a Senior Cost Analyst from The National Machinery Company in Tiffin, Ohio, after 36 years of service. An alumnus of Tiffin University, Bill and his late wife Jean Grady Hertzer, also a TU graduate, donated gifts creating the Hertzer Technology Center in 2004 and the newly named William F. Hertzer Department of Accounting and Finance in 2018. Hertzer has served on the boards of Heidelberg Beach Homeowners Association and Tiffin Rangers, was a Council member at First Lutheran Church, and a past Junior Achievement Advisor. He resides in Tiffin part of the year and Florida during the winter months. Hertzer joined TU’s Board of Trustees in 2015.

Lisa Hohman was named the CEO of Concordance Healthcare Solutions in 2019 and calls Tiffin her home. With a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Heidelberg University, Lisa began her career in the distribution industry in 1992, working for AmeriSource Bergen in IT Support and was named Vice President of National Accounts for AmeriSource before leaving to join Seneca Medical in 2000. When Seneca Medical merged with Kreisers and MMS, a medical supply company, to form Concordance in 2016, Lisa remained the Chief Strategy Officer and used her diverse background to coordinate company growth and strategic initiatives. Lisa is currently the HIDA HEF Board Chair, as well as a SMI Advisory Board Member and was awarded the 2019 PWH Leadership of Distinction Award. When asked what her biggest personal goal is as CEO, Lisa states that she will continue to provide a stable and positive work environment for the employees and the customers. In addition, her goals are to continue the measured growth and expansion of Concordance’s offerings in order to provide exemplary service to the healthcare provider which allows them to provide the optimal care for the patients they serve. When outside the office, Lisa loves to travel and camp and attends a variety of her children’s sporting events and extra-curricular activities. He joined the company in 2005 and succeeded his father Donald L. Mennel as president in 2013. Renee Meyer

Renée Meyer is an American and Swiss citizen, having grown-up in Tiffin, Ohio, USA, and currently living  in Strasbourg France. Renée has worked and lived in Europe, and North and South America. She speaks  French, German and Spanish. 


Renée works independently as an intercultural mediator, combining her skills in intercultural  communication, sustainability and finance. Her current activities are linking the French (mainly the  Grand Est region) and the U.S. (mainly Midwest) markets. She concentrates on creating the bridge  between actors in different cultures, so that the client can focus on adapting their product or service  offering to the export market. She has specialized in medtech, however is looking to expand to other  areas. 


Renée also lectures at several universities in France and in South America, covering subject matters like:

Jeff Oravitz is the Chief Executive Officer of Arsenal Capital Partners’ coatings platform, Seal For Life Industries, where he also serves on the platform’s Board of Directors.  He formerly was the Vice President of PPG Coatings Services and the President of MetoKote Corporation, based in Lima, OH, from July 2016 to March 2019.  He previously served as President and Chief Executive Officer and Board of Directors member of MetoKote from December 2011 through June of 2016, when he lead the process to sell the company to PPG Industries.  He joined MetoKote in 2005, when he was named Vice President, North American In-Plant Businesses.  He also has served at MetoKote in the capacity of Vice President, North American Operations and as Global Vice President, Business Development.


Prior to his tenure at MetoKote, Jeff enjoyed a twenty year career with PPG Industries, Inc., where he served in a variety of technical, commercial, and management roles with increasing responsibility in a number of the company’s coatings businesses, including Automotive OEM, Automotive Refinish, General Industrial, and Packaging Coatings.


Jeff is a native of Pittsburgh, PA, and has received a Bachelors of Science degree in Chemistry and an MBA, both with honors from the University of Pittsburgh.


He is a 2010 recipient of the prestigious Brewer Award from the Electrocoat Association, where he formerly served as Vice President and as a member of the Board of Directors.  He previously has served as President of the Shawnee Country Club, Chairman of the Governance Board of Lima Central Catholic High School, Vice Chair of the Lima/Allen County Chamber of Commerce, and was an Executive Committee member of PPG’s Political Action Committee.  He served on the Board of Directors for the Hunt Valve Company (Salem, OH), and currently serves as First Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of the Ohio Manufacturers Association, and is an Executive Committee member of the Tiffin University (Tiffin, OH) Board of Trustees.


Jeff and his wife Cindy reside in Lima with their youngest daughter, Allyson.  Their oldest daughter, Ashley, graduated from the University of Dayton and is employed in the advertising field in New York City.  Their son, Austin, graduated from the Ohio Dominican University, where he was a two-time academic All-American and captain of the men’s golf team, and is employed in the finance field in Cincinnati

He is a past president of both the Rotary Club of Waterville, Ohio, and The Ohio State University Alumni Club of Lucas County. He is a 1992 Leadership Toledo graduate, as well as a past board member for The University of Toledo Family Business Center and a past board member and treasurer for The Victory Center, a nonprofit that assists cancer patients and their families. Schult joined TU’s Board of Trustees in 2019.

Dr. Lillian “Lil” Schumacher took the helm as Tiffin University’s Interim President on January 11, 2016 and was named President just five months later on June 8, 2016.  Prior to her presidency, she has been an integral part of the University since 2010, first as Dean of the School of Business and more recently as Vice President for Academic Affairs.

“Tiffin University and the City of Tiffin have been part of my family for over 30 years,” Schumacher said.  “TU is a great institution in a fine city and I am thrilled to continue its tradition of success.  We have a supportive and engaged Board of Trustees, an exceptional faculty and staff who believe in student success, and an outstanding, diverse student body that expects the best from us.  With these strengths, we will achieve great things.”

A natural leader who has experience and academic training in leadership, Dr. Schumacher has more than 30 years of expertise in higher education and corporate environments in areas of program development, assessment, accreditation, teaching, strategic planning, budget preparation and administration, staff selection and evaluation, and fundraising.  As a professor of management, she has designed and taught courses and workshops in the areas of organizational behavior and change, strategy, leadership, entrepreneurship, communication, career mapping, human resources, international business and global leadership, and other related disciplines.

With over 20 years of serving as an organizational consultant in areas of leadership development, executive coaching, strategic planning, human resources, career coaching and change management, Dr. Schumacher believes in an organizational culture that embraces mutual respect, accountability, intentional actions, diversity, inclusion and clear decision-making aligned with organizational values.

She has demonstrated her ability to manage and advocate change processes in higher educational and corporate settings, and is a highly motivated, results-oriented professional with an approachable leadership style and a strong work ethic marked by dedication, initiative, integrity and professionalism.

During her short time as President, she has established a Celebrating Cultural Uniqueness commitment, which assures students, employers and our community that TU graduates, regardless of their area of specialty, are innovative problem-solvers who can leverage diversity of any type to work effectively with people who are different from them and produce innovative ideas.  She has also reinstituted Tiffin University’s 5-year strategic planning process including “Guiding Principles,” which very clearly state TU’s strategic priorities, purpose, mission and vision along with ICARE values.  In addition, she led the effort in raising $8 million, after a $4 million donor match, within her first 18 months in the job.

Prior to returning to Tiffin with her family in 2010, President Schumacher was an Associate Professor and founding Director of the Ph.D. in Global Leadership program at Indiana Tech in Fort Wayne, Indiana.  She served as the first Director of Assessment and Institutional Effectiveness at Chancellor University in Cleveland, Ohio and prior to that, she was an Assistant Professor in the Keith Busse School of Business and Entrepreneurial Leadership at the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne, where she also served as the Graduate Program Director and Assessment Coordinator for the school.

In the private sector, President Schumacher is a trained facilitator and executive coach specializing in the Emotional and Social Competency Inventory (ESCI), DISC Personal Profile Systems and Franklin Covey’s Four Disciplines of Execution.  She has consulted with both national and international companies.

Dr. Schumacher serves as board director for Webster Industries and the Tiffin-Seneca Economic Partnership.  She is past president of the Industrial Management Council and has served in various leadership positions for the Accreditation Council for Business Schools & Programs (ACBSP). She is also on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (NAICU), the Association for Independent Colleges and Universities in Ohio (AICUO), the Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges (OFIC) and the Ohio Campus Compact (OCC).

A true Renaissance woman who knows that technology has placed the world at our fingertips, President Schumacher is actively involved in the global aspect of education, having served as a board member for the European Council for Business Education (ECBE) until December 2016.  She is now striving to integrate global diversity into curricular and extra-curricular experiences for all Tiffin University students.

President Schumacher holds a Doctorate in Leadership Studies and Master’s degrees in Organization Development and Higher Education Administration, all from Bowling Green State University.  She earned a Bachelor degree in Economics from Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania.

Although she has lived and traveled extensively in the Middle East, Europe and Asia, President Schumacher is happy to call Tiffin her home.

President Schumacher brings a high degree of accountability to ensure creative, stimulating and positive environments to her position at Tiffin University.

Since May 2018, Sam Strausbaugh is the CEO and equity owner of Case Pacer located in Indianapolis, Indiana. Case Pacer is a software business that provides case management solutions for the legal industry. In addition, Mr. Strausbaugh founded Strausbaugh Consulting, LLC in July 2011 to assist clients in managing their respective businesses. He specializes in performance management, strategic planning, acquisition and merger assistance, and financial modeling. He continues to service selective clients in this business. Since 2016 Mr. Strausbaugh has also been active in his investment business, investing in more than 20 businesses. In 2011, Mr. Strausbaugh acquired a commercial roofing business, JB Roofing of Tiffin. In December of 2016, the business was sold to Tecta American, a roofing platform business with a national footprint. Mr. Strausbaugh currently serves on the First Federal Bank Board of Directors. Strausbaugh joined TU’s Board of Trustees in 2020.

Rich retired from Rowmark, LLC as the Chief Commercial Officer where he was responsible for business development in new geographic regions and markets, as well as global sales for the Rowmark extruded sheet division. Rich started with Rowmark in 2000 and served in several roles including Vice President of Sales and Marketing. During his tenure, the domestic and international sales and marketing team achieved double-digit revenue growth for 15 years. Rich was also actively involved in company acquisitions, completing 12 in less than 10 years. 

Prior to Rowmark, Rich spent more than fifteen years working for the founding manufacturers of rotary engraving and laser marking systems where his responsibilities included operations oversight and worldwide sales. Rich attributes much of his leadership and technical skills to his time serving in the United States Marine Corps where he received training in ground-to-ground and ground-to-air electronic and communications maintenance.  

Rich has written several articles for Awards & Engraving Magazine (A&E) and authored “The Engravers Bible,” the definitive text for engravers. He has also taught several education courses including topics on business management, sales success, and laser and rotary engraving. Rich is active on several industry marketing and educational boards, and formerly served as President of the Awards and Recognition Association, which serves over 4,000 members.

Rich is active in the community and stays involved with several local non-profit and education organizations. He serves on multiple boards including Tiffin University, Children’s Mentoring Connection (CMC) Foundation, the Convention & Visitor’s Bureau, and as an advisor on Board of Directors for several private businesses. He previously served for eleven years on the Board of Directors of CMC and as President in 2007. 

Rich lives in Findlay, Ohio with his wife, Laurie.
