Greetings TU Community,
On behalf of my leadership team and me, I am writing to you, our TU community, to acknowledge the pain, fear, and hopelessness that is being experienced and expressed following the death of George Floyd on Monday afternoon on a street in Minneapolis.
We recognize this is not an isolated event and the powerful impact it has on our lives. We challenge our greater community to maintain a culture of civility and respect when engaging with one another. Our Guiding Principles encourage our foundational belief in communicating a point of view that maintains relationships, respect differences, and advances our communities closer together instead of further apart.
As leaders of this university it is important for us to remind our community of our dedication, support, and belief in fostering diversity and inclusion. We remain committed to our responsibility in educating and creating an inclusive world, which recognizes and respects all humankind.
