Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and the Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE) announced that Tiffin University has been named a Collegiate Purple Star campus.
The Collegiate Purple Star designation honors institutions that maintain dedicated military and veteran support offices, offer priority registration for veterans and servicemembers, assess the needs of military-connected students and their families and support student-led groups for veterans and servicemembers.
Ohio became the first state in the nation to offer the Collegiate Purple Star designation when it was launched in 2022. TU joins 50 other Ohio Collegiate Purple Star award winners this year. Through these winning campuses, servicemembers, veterans and military-connected students are able to pursue higher education knowing that their school has the necessary support system and guidance to help them find their next steps.
“Tiffin University is honored to once again earn the Collegiate Purple Star designation,” said Tiffin University President, Dr. Lillian Schumacher. “Our service members, veterans, and military-connected students are an invaluable part of the Dragon community, and we remain deeply committed to supporting their success both in and beyond the classroom. I extend my sincere gratitude to the Ohio Department of Higher Education and its advisory committee for recognizing our ongoing efforts through this award. We look forward to continuing to provide the resources, guidance, and sense of belonging these students need to achieve their goals.”
