The University Academic Support Office (UAS)/ Murphy Center is here for all Tiffin University students whether you are online, on-campus or a College Credit Plus student still in high school. Our variety of services are designed to give you the support you need, when you need it and in a manner that works for you. We understand that every student and course represent unique situations and our professional and student staff are dedicated to assisting you. We specialize in providing you the individual support that helps you achieve your academic success while building skills and preparing for your future career.

Why Use Our Services?
But what if I am already a good student?
About half of the students who use the UAS/Murphy Center have a 3.0 GPA or higher. These students use the Center to maintain their academic standing and develop their existing skills.
The UAS has something for everyone.
Whatever you’re academic standing, no matter how small or how complex the questions is, the UAS has services designed to help you. Our goal is to assist every student where possible. We start with where you are and work to get you where you need to be.

Meet Our Team

Brook Edwards

A native of Southern Ohio, Brook came to Tiffin in 2020 to help develop the academic support programs. He began his career as a tutor during his undergrad before moving to campus coordinator and eventually program coordinator at the community college level. Returning to his alma mater in 2016 he assumed the management and operation of all academic supports before coming to Tiffin University in 2020.
In addition to his academic work, Brook has served as the Vice-President of the Association for the Tutoring Profession, Secretary of the Ohio Association of Development Education, Professional Development Char and Board Member of the New York College Learning Skills Association, and has served as a volunteer with the Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education where he co-authored a white paper on assessment in peer assisted learning centers. He is currently a member of the National College Learning Center Association, Ohio College Learning Center Association, College Reading and Learning Association and the New York College Learning Skills Association.
