Tiffin University has expanded its influence across the globe through strategic academic partnerships that create lasting value, broaden access to education and support shared growth between institutions, students and regions. With established collaborations in Romania and Switzerland, the University is building pathways that enable students to earn internationally recognized U.S. degrees while engaging in learning experiences tailored to their cultural and professional environments.
These partnerships reflect Tiffin University’s commitment to collaboration as a driver of shared growth. By working closely with international partner institutions, TU extends academic opportunity while also strengthening local educational ecosystems and creating long-term value for students and institutions alike.
Romania: Transforming Business Education
In Romania, Tiffin University has set a groundbreaking precedent by offering the first American Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program in the country. Delivered exclusively in English and taught by Tiffin University professors, the program is housed in Bucharest.
The program consists of 20 modules to be completed in four years, taking place during the week, from Monday to Friday. Each module consists of two courses and has a duration of three weeks for each module. Once completed, graduates earn an internationally accredited BBA degree, gaining the skills to excel as entrepreneurs, managers and employees in today’s fast-paced economy.
In addition to the BBA program, Tiffin University also offers a transformative Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) program in Romania. This program aims to provide students with the tools needed to stand out in the world of business, both locally and internationally. Using a case study approach, the program transforms theory into practical skills through real-world problem-solving, enhancing leadership, teamwork and decision-making. Designed for working professionals, the 15-month program consists of seven modules with weekend classes. Inspired by methodologies pioneered at Harvard Business School, the Tiffin Executive EMBA creates a dynamic learning environment rooted in practical application.
Main campus Tiffin University professors regularly travel to Bucharest to teach in person, ensuring academic continuity and direct engagement with students in the program. In addition, University leadership have often traveled between campuses, strengthening institutional alignment and reinforcing the shared commitment to student success.
In Spring 2025, the Romania partnership reached a meaningful milestone as six students from TU’s Bucharest campus traveled to the main campus in Ohio. For these students, the experience was more than a study abroad opportunity. It was a full-circle connection between TU’s academic programs in Romania and its home campus in the United States, reinforcing the strength and value of the partnership. The semester in Ohio challenged students to adapt to a campus-based environment and a new level of independence. Many noted how different it was from higher education in Romania, where campus life is not structured in the same way. Living in residence halls, managing daily routines and engaging with peers from around the world helped them grow in confidence and self-reliance. Academically, students valued the interactive classroom experience, practical coursework and exposure to career opportunities such as campus events and job fairs. Outside the classroom, they immersed themselves in American culture through campus life, friendships, travel and shared experiences that made their time in Tiffin both meaningful and memorable.
A unique tradition has also emerged through this partnership. Some graduates from the Romania campus travel to Tiffin to participate in commencement, symbolizing the connection between campuses and celebrating shared achievement across continents.
Switzerland: A Dual Degree Advantage
The American Institute of Applied Sciences in Switzerland (AUS), located in La Tour-de-Peilz, Switzerland, and Tiffin University offer a Dual Degree Program (DDP), allowing AUS students to obtain a degree from both institutions. The DDP blends AUS’s applied sciences approach with TU’s robust academic curriculum, creating an interdisciplinary experience that combines critical thinking, problem-solving and global business acumen.
To receive both degrees, students must successfully complete the required AUS and TU courses. The curricula are intentionally integrated, combining coursework from both institutions to ensure students gain maximum exposure to the knowledge, skills and perspectives needed for today’s global workforce. For online classes, AUS students learn alongside TU students in shared virtual classrooms, fostering real-time interaction, collaboration and cross-cultural exchange. The DDP is designed to prepare students for success in an interconnected global job market by building adaptability, communication skills and international awareness while exposing them to two distinct academic systems that deepen their understanding of global business practices.
The partnership is further strengthened through ongoing engagement between institutions, including visits from Tiffin University leadership and faculty to Switzerland. These visits reinforce academic alignment, deepen collaboration with AUS colleagues and ensure a consistent, high quality student experience across both locations. They also reflect the hands-on nature of the partnership, where leadership presence and faculty involvement help sustain shared goals and continuous improvement across programs.
By aligning academic frameworks and combining institutional strengths, AUS and Tiffin University are creating a program that expands opportunity while strengthening the global relevance of both degrees.
Partner University Model: Creating Shared Growth Across Borders
Across Romania and Switzerland, Tiffin University’s international partnerships demonstrate how collaboration across institutions and sectors creates lasting value and shared growth. These are not transactional agreements but long-term relationships that expand educational access, strengthen institutional capacity and prepare students for success in a global economy.
By working closely with international partner institutions, Tiffin University extends its academic reach while also contributing to the development of local education systems. Together, these partnerships reflect a shared commitment to innovation in higher education. They demonstrate how the partner University model can connect institutions across borders, create opportunity and ensure that students benefit from an education that is both globally relevant and built to prepare them for success in an interconnected world.
