LIFE@TU, Tiffin University’s lifelong learning program for adults aged 50 and older, will launch its 2026-27 season on Friday, September 4. The program will offer 20 engaging lectures and expert panels throughout the academic year covering history, science and technology, the arts, current events, health, finance, criminal justice and more.
The new season will also mark an important expansion beyond campus as LIFE@TU launches a senior living partnership pilot with Good Shepherd Home in Fostoria, creating new opportunities for residents to participate both in person and through livestreaming.
Designed for adults who enjoy learning for the sheer pleasure and intellectual stimulation of it, LIFE@TU offers academically oriented, noncredit programming in a relaxed and welcoming environment with no tests, assignments or grades. Members gather to explore new ideas, take part in meaningful conversations and build connections with others who share their curiosity and love of learning.
Highlights of the fall 2026 semester include:
- “AI Scams & Cyber Fraud: Protecting Yourself in a Changing Digital World,” presented by Dr. Andy Groman, Tiffin University Assistant Professor of Cybersecurity and Computer Science, and Detective Lieutenant Mark Marquis of the Tiffin Police Department
- “Tribal Nations of Northwest Ohio: Heritage Festival Kickoff Event,” presented by local historian, author and retired veterinarian Dr. Roy Zinn
- “America 250: Historians Spotlight Their Favorite Trailblazers,” presented by Christie Weininger, Executive Director of the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Library & Museums, and Dr. Michael Goodnough, Tiffin University Associate Professor of History
- “Safari Stories: Africa’s Animals & People Through the Lens,” presented by retired educator and trained African safari guide Kevin Kramer
Other fall sessions will explore the U.S. Constitution, the future of American education, the work of the Ohio Innocence Project, international cultures and traditions, local manufacturing history and the lives of Rutherford and Lucy Hayes.
Through the new partnership with Good Shepherd, participating villa residents will become on-campus LIFE@TU members, while assisted living residents will be able to experience sessions together through a new livestream program. As LIFE@TU’s first satellite location, Good Shepherd Home will help extend the program’s intellectual engagement, connection and sense of community to older adults who may not otherwise be able to attend on campus.

Annual memberships are $150, and semester memberships are $85. Single-session admission and guest passes are available for $10, and scholarships are available to ensure that financial circumstances do not prevent anyone from participating.
Sessions will be held on Fridays from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., a new time for the 2026-27 season, in Tiffin University’s Osceola Theatre, located in the Gillmor Student Center at 155 Miami St. Members may continue the conversation after each session over lunch in TU’s Cole Dining Hall at a discounted rate.
