Dr. Jessica Dennis is an Assistant Professor of English at Tiffin University, where she also serves as Faculty Advisor for The Blaze, the University’s student-run multimedia publication. Dr. Dennis earned her Ph.D. in Education from Walden University in 2024. Her dissertation, which explored educators’ perceptions of using technology to teach digital literacy in urban classrooms, reflects her research interests in educational equity, digital pedagogy and innovative teaching practices. Dr. Dennis also holds a Master of Education in Philosophy from Walden University, a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies from the University of Findlay and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Lourdes University.

Dr. Dennis has been a dedicated member of the Tiffin University academic community for over 17 years, serving in multiple instructional roles, including Affiliate and Adjunct Faculty, before joining the full-time faculty. Her teaching experience spans institutions and disciplines, having taught journalism at Bowling Green State University, humanities and English at the University of Arizona (Global Campus) and English and journalism at Muskegon Community College in Michigan. With over 25 years of experience in higher education, Dr. Dennis brings a multidisciplinary perspective to her work, integrating writing, research, media and rhetoric into her teaching. Her ongoing interests include lifelong learning, digital literacy and student diversity in higher education.
