Dr. Elizabeth Sprunk is a licensed registered nurse with over 39 years of experience in health care practice and academic settings. Dr. Sprunk is the Dean of Nursing and Professor at Mercy College of Ohio in Toledo. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Franklin University, a Master of Science in Nursing from the Medical College of Ohio, and a PhD in Nursing Education from the University of Northern Colorado. Dr. Sprunk’s area of clinical expertise is medical-surgical and orthopedic nursing. In addition, Dr. Sprunk is certified by the National League for Nursing as a Certified Nurse Educator. Dr. Sprunk serves as a program evaluator and evaluation review panel member for the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing.
Dr. Sprunk’s major research interest is academic incivility, with a specific focus on student and faculty incivility; the impact incivility has on students, faculty, and administrators; and prevention strategies and methods to manage incivility.
