Jamie Marinis is an Assistant Professor teaching communication and Dragon Education Core courses while serving as the Chair of Cultural Immersion. She organizes study abroad student experiences, short-term cultural trips abroad as well as local culture courses and experiences for students. She found her passion for higher education through her own challenges and experiences as a college student. Her involvement and interactions with faculty and staff while a student led her to pursue a fulfilling career in higher education where she finds great joy helping students navigate and balance their own college experience.

With over 20 years of experience in education, spanning advising, athletics, enrollment management, international affairs and academics, she has dedicated her career to empowering students to discover their potential and achieve their dreams.  A proud Kent State alum and Ohio native, Jamie has been part of the Tiffin community for two decades, raising her family and serving the community as Facilitator of the Seneca County CEO program and Assistant Cheerleading Coach at Calvert High School. Her passion for collaboration, teamwork and leveraging individual strengths is central as she guides and mentors the next generation of innovative leaders.
