Julie Coggiola is a vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, lyricist, arranger and educator who is skilled in multiple genres. Her teaching portfolio includes private voice lessons of every genre, instrumental lessons, songwriting lessons, choir and jazz vocal ensembles, children’s theatre and music programs for students with disabilities. She also worked in event, venue and concert management for several years.
Prior to joining Tiffin University, Julie was teaching at the University of Texas at Arlington and Dallas College, as well as maintaining her private studio. Julie was also an active performer in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, singing her own arrangements and original music in solo, combo and big band settings. She recently recorded her debut album to be released within the next year.
In the summer of 2024, Julie was a recipient of the U.S. Air Force Bands Diversity Fellowship, which allowed her to perform a concert with the USAF Airmen of Note. She co-presented research at the 2025 Jazz Education Network Conference, comparing the conference’s offerings over several years. Also in 2025, she received two Downbeat Student Music Awards, including “Graduate College: Outstanding Performance as a Vocal Jazz Soloist,” and “Graduate College: Outstanding Jazz Vocal Arrangement” for her arrangement of “Taking A Chance On Love.”
