How a Scholarship Impacted TU student Weston Bollinger’s Path

We sat down with accounting and finance major (with a minor in music!), Weston Bollinger, who answered a few questions about his experience at TU, and how his path led him here. He is from just down the road in Sycamore, Ohio and will graduate in spring of 2025.

Why did you choose TU?

I chose TU as it is an affordable school with an excellent business program. TU is close enough for me to commute and allow me to save extra money.

What do you like most about TU?

I like that the professors at TU have experience in the field they teach. I felt that my education has been significantly better since my professors have experience in their respective career fields, such as accounting. Many of my accounting and finance professors have supported me academically and with finding internship opportunities. There are many ways for students to be involved, and students involved in athletics and performing arts are provided scholarships. I have always enjoyed being involved in music in high school, and one reason I chose TU was that I could continue to be involved in music while pursuing my degree.

Has TU “transformed” your life through education? How?

I feel that my education at TU has helped me feel more prepared to work after college. TU has helped me become a professional student with the skills and education to succeed in my future career.

What are your future goals?

One of my future goals is to graduate from TU and find work in the accounting industry. I want to give back to TU after I graduate. I will likely donate to the University for Giving Day and/or scholarships. I also may participate in alumni activities during homecoming week, such as the alumni band.

Tell us about your scholarships.

My academic scholarship is based on my final high school GPA. My TiffinArts scholarship is for my involvement in TU’s performing arts and music ensembles. I was also awarded two annual endowed scholarships, based on my scholarship application that I submitted for them. These scholarships have allowed me to afford college and pursue my degree.
