Tiffin University and the TOPUCU Foundation have signed an agreement that provides grant funds to support research conducted by the School of Criminal Justice and Social Sciences Violent Crime Analysis Fellowship (VCA) students.

The VCA Fellowship provides an immersive, four-year experiential learning opportunity for students interested in studying violent criminal behavior. Fellowship students dive deep into the complex world of violent crime, conducting cutting-edge research that shapes new understanding and informs real-world solutions. They are provided with exceptional experiences and opportunities by presenting their findings at reputable conferences, publishing in respected journals and collaborating with industry partners to address pressing societal challenges.

TOPUCU (The Only Person U Cheat is U) delivers evidence-based personal and professional development programming through both eCourses and in-person facilitation. The organization is committed to aligning its curricula with evolving workforce development standards and research on criminogenic needs and social-emotional learning. Through its nonprofit arm, the TOPUCU Foundation, the organization also funds and supports research initiatives to advance the field of evidence-based behavioral programming, both internally and for other curriculum providers.

The grant-funded partnership supports TU’s VCA Fellowship, offering students additional opportunities to engage in field-based, applied research. VCA Fellowship students and faculty will engage in field-based research in correctional, juvenile justice and workforce development environments.

“This partnership with the TOPUCU Foundation strengthens the core mission of the VCA Fellowship—giving our students real-world, high-impact research experiences,” said Dr. Regan Murray, Violent Crime Analysis Fellowship Director at Tiffin University. “It also reflects Tiffin University’s commitment to applied scholarship that makes a measurable difference in our communities.”
