Tiffin University School of Business to Host Annual Summit to Success

Tiffin University’s School of Business will host its 10th annual Summit to Success on Tuesday, March 21. Coordinated by TU’s Business Club, the Summit will take place in the Marion Center from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. Lunch will be provided and door prizes will be given. The event is free and open to the public.

Brian Edler, Owner, President and CEO of Domino’s Pizza will kick off the event at 9 a.m. and will provide attendees with vouchers for free pizza. Having started as a Domino’s pizza maker in 1982 on his 18th birthday, Edler now personally owns and operates 43 franchise locations and has plans to purchase 15 more by the end of 2023. He also holds six Guinness World Records in the categories of fastest pizza making and largest pizzas.

Breakout sessions will follow in the Main Classroom Building from 9:55 a.m. to 11:55 a.m. and will be facilitated by multiple speakers from across varying relevant industries.

The keynote luncheon, presented by Lauren Barnes 08,’ will begin at 12:30 p.m. and conclude at 1:30 p.m. Barnes is the Senior Director of 777X Program Management for Boeing.

Lauren Barnes is the 777X Program Manager within Boeing Defense, Space and Security where she leads program operations to design, manufacture and assemble the new 777X composite wing. Prior to 777, she was the T-7 Program Integration Office leader, responsible for execution and integration of the program schedule and requirements, as well as the systems and processes that support them. Before joining T-7, Barnes served as the Program Manager for Defense Logistics Services within Boeing Global Services. In this capacity, she managed Boeing’s business with the Defense Logistics Agency, as well as Boeing Distribution Incorporated, Boeing Tapestry and a classified facilities services portfolio. Barnes also spent time in Washington, D.C where she was the Chief of Staff for Government Operations, serving as a strategic advisor to the Executive Vice President of Government Operations and overseeing a number of legislative and regulatory campaigns and key projects. While in D.C., she also served as the Director and Chief of Staff for Boeing Defense, Space and Security within Government Operations and served as a liaison between Boeing and the Pentagon, NASA and Department of Homeland Security. Prior to her time in D.C., Barnes served as the F/A-18 India Program Manager responsible for defining a competitive and executable Super Hornet Make in an India campaign. Barnes has held numerous other positions within Boeing’s tactical aircraft and weapons business, as well as various roles across sales and marketing, strategy and finance. She began her career in the Business Career Foundations Program in southern California.

Originally from Houston, Texas, Barnes holds a Bachelor in Business Administration degree from Tiffin University in Tiffin, Ohio and a Master in Business Administration degree from Washington University in Saint Louis. She sits on the Board of Directors for Dog Tag Incorporated, based in Washington, D.C., as well as the Women’s Foundation of Greater Saint Louis.
