On April 4 at 7 p.m., Tiffin University’s School of Criminal Justice and Social Sciences will host its Distinguished Lecture Series with Ariana Seanor as the evening’s speaker. The event will take place in the Marion Center and is free to the public.

Ariana Seanor is a Tiffin University alumna and currently serves as a United States Capitol police officer in Washington D.C. She was recently awarded the Congressional Gold Medal for service to her country on January 6, 2021, amidst the protestor attack on the U.S. Capitol building.

The Distinguished Lecture Series began in 2017 by Dr. Elizabeth Athaide-Victor, TU Professor of Psychology and Forensic Psychology, as part of her psychology of violence and aggression class. The series first came to be as an attempt to show students how factors such as society, culture, mental illness and others can spark violence, as well as how it can be prevented.
“Tiffin University has always turned out excellent professionals,” said Victor. “We are delighted to have our alum who is with the D.C. Capital police and received the Congressional Gold Medal for her efforts on January 6. Please come and hear her compelling story.”
