Tiffin University’s School of Business will host the fifth annual Virtual Sport and Fitness Showcase on Friday, Jan. 30, from 9 a.m. to noon. The free online event is open to the public and is designed for individuals interested in careers in the sports and fitness industries. Participants may move between sessions throughout the showcase.
The showcase will open with a keynote address from Tracy Marek, Chief Marketing Officer for the Lake Erie Crushers and former CEO of U.S. Figure Skating. Marek previously spent 19 years with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse and was named to Forbes Magazine’s “50 Over 50” list in 2023.
Following the keynote, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in breakout sessions led by professionals representing a wide range of organizations and career areas. Topics include professional sports sales, athlete representation, stadium and arena operations, women in sports, digital storytelling, brand partnerships and more. Sessions will be moderated by Tiffin University students and feature professionals from Major League Baseball organizations, Athletes Unlimited, NFLPA certified agencies and other industry leaders.
“This event offers an inside look at the sports and fitness industry for students and aspiring professionals,” said Dr. Bonnie Tiell, Professor of Sport Management at Tiffin University. “Attendees will engage with experienced leaders, learn how the industry operates and discover the skills needed to thrive. It is an important step for anyone looking to build a meaningful and successful career in this fast-paced field.”
