Tiffin University’s Diane Kidd Gallery to Host “The Day of Long Goodbyes” Sculpture Exhibit

Tiffin University’s Diane Kidd Gallery will feature Michael W. High’s ceramic sculpture collection, “The Day of Long Goodbyes,” from August 21 to September 22. The artist’s reception will be Friday, September 8 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the gallery, with an artist’s talk starting at 5:30. Light refreshments will be served. The event is free and open to the public.

Michael High is a full-time artist from northeastern Ohio. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Kent State University, and his artwork has been exhibited regionally, nationally and internationally. High delves into the intricate relationship between humanity and the world, employing clay as his medium of choice. His connection to clay, which symbolizes the earth itself, serves as a bridge to invite viewers into his narratives, allowing them to extract their own meanings from each piece. High’s creations incorporate various media to explore light and darkness, abstract concepts and the complex interplay of thoughts and emotions.

“Clay speaks to me like no other media. Strength and texture combine into organized shapes and random attitudes that enable me to reveal the unseen,” said High.
