Event: Friday, August 23, 2019
TIFFIN UNIVERSITY, Tiffin, OH— Incoming first-year students will be formally welcomed at Tiffin University’s annual convocation on Friday, Aug, 23 beginning at 2:15 p.m. in the Heminger Center.
Convocation is an opportunity for students to meet new friends and become oriented to the next chapter of their lives — the true university experience. The event, simulating graduation, will begin at 2:15 p.m. in the Heminger Center. It is open to family, friends and the community.
“This is a very important ceremony, not only for our new students but for all of the Tiffin campus and surrounding community as well,” said Dr. Peter Holbrook, Provost. “It’s going to be a great year!”
“The day of Convocation is a significant and pivotal ceremony for our students,” said Dr. Lillian Schumacher, President. “It is the official start of the academic year and a celebration that welcomes our new class as they begin their collegiate journey.”

Miami Street Project
A tradition of TU’s convocation ceremony is for new students to walk together down Miami Street to the Heminger Center. But because of the Miami Street Project, something we are all anticipating, Miami Street will be closed between Nelson and Wall Streets.
