Tiffin Ranked as a Safe College Town

Tiffin was named as one of the safest college towns. Safewise, a professional review and comparison website, ranked Tiffin as number 18 in the country.

Safewise researched the FBI’s 2016 crime data to reveal the college towns with the best safety records. To deem a college town “safe,” the company zeroed in on violent crimes per 1,000 people for each city. Violent crimes include murder, rape, robbery, and aggravated assault. The list excluded towns with for-profit institutions, technical and vocational schools, and community colleges.

Tiffin is referred to as “The Education Community” because of its two major universities and plentiful vocational and trade schools. In addition, Tiffin invests in public safety education. Safety City is an annual program that teaches kids biking, walking, car, and fire safety.
