This fall,Tiffin University will launch LIFE@TU, a weekly educational program designed for people ages 50 plus to learn about a variety of subjects.
Starting September 8, sessions will take place from 10 a.m. to noon in Osceola Theatre, located on TU’s campus in Gillmor Student Center. Ten non-credit classes will be held per semester, with topics covering a wide range of themes that include history, architecture and restoration, science, nature, technology, arts and literature, culture and diversity, local events, community connections, travel, ethics and more. Courses will be taught by current and retired faculty from both Tiffin University and Heidelberg University, as well as guest speakers. Topics for future semesters will be determined through the input of LIFE@TU members.
“I am excited to invite members from the community and alumni to our campus and engage them in conversations about topics they care about,” said President Schumacher. “I believe this is a way for Tiffin University to give back to the wonderful community in which our campus resides. It is my hope that, once here, LIFE@TU members will meet new friends, make connections with our students and become involved in the life of Tiffin University.”
Registered attendees may enjoy a number of perks, including discounted lunches on class days at Cole Dining Hall, free access to athletic events and campus activities, preferred seating at theater and music performances and more.
An annual membership, good for 20 classes, is $150 per person with semester and individual passes available. Sign up by August 19 for an early-bird-discounted rate of $140. Attendees may sign up online by visiting tiffin.edu/academics/lifetu.
