TIFFIN UNIVERSITY, Tiffin, OH— Tiffin University is among the best colleges in the nation for accommodating military students, according to a new list.
Institutions earning the Military Friendly ® School designation were evaluated, using both public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey completed by the school. This year 766 schools earned this prestigious designation.
The Military Friendly School’s website features the list, interactive tools and searches functionality to help military students find the best school to suit their unique needs and preferences.
The institutions on this year’s list exhibit leading practices in the recruitment and retention of students with military experience. Tiffin University has a designated center and program for student veterans to help them navigate resources and coach them for success.
Methodology, criteria and weightings were determined by VIQTORY with input from the Military Friendly ® Advisory Council of independent leaders in the higher education and military recruitment community. Final ratings were determined by combining the institution’s survey scores with the assessment of the institution’s ability to meet thresholds for Student Retention, Graduation, Job Placement, Loan Repayment, Persistence (Degree Advancement or Transfer) and Loan Default Rates for all students and, specifically, for student veterans.
“This ranking is a testimony to Tiffin University’s commitment to serving those who have served, as well as those who continue on active duty. It is truly an honor to assist our military students and help them discover that Tiffin University faculty and staff put into practice, and the standards that bestow this prestigious honor on our university,” said Denise Burkin, TU’s Director of Veteran and Military Services.
