
Tiffin University will host a mock voting day for elementary youth on November 8 in the Heminger Center on TU’s campus.
The event will involve a mix of 217 fourth and fifth-grade students from Calvert, Hopewell-Loudon and Mohawk. A total of 11 polls will be set up in the Heminger Center with students voting on a variety of topics such as favorite foods, colors and other topics. The exercise will highlight the importance of voting on Election Day.
The event will begin at 9:15 a.m. and will also feature Assistant Professor of History Michael Goodnough who will speak on the importance of participating in voting.
The results of the student vote will be revealed at the Tiffin University-Findlay football game on November 12 at noon. All participating students are welcome to come to the game and will be recognized prior to the game. At 11:30 a.m., the students will meet in a tent at Frost Kalnow Stadium. They will then be escorted to the game field for recognition and to see the results of their vote.
