Tiffin University to Host Original Musical Production “The Human Heart”

The Tiffin University Institute of Creative and Media Arts will feature three student performances of “The Human Heart,” an original musical production. Performances will take place in the Marion Center at 7 p.m. February 21-22, with a 1 p.m. matinee February 23.

“The Human Heart” features music from Tony-Award-winning musicals “Dear Evan Hansen,” “Spring Awakening,” “Hadestown,” “The Outsiders” and more, interwoven with brand new material written by TU students. This original production explores our common humanity, connections with each other and love in all its many forms through song and spoken word.

“A favorite quote of mine is attributed to the one and only Mr. Rogers: ‘There isn’t anyone you couldn’t learn to love once you’ve heard their story.’ I believe deeply in the art of storytelling as a means of expression, change and healing,” said the production’s Director and Assistant Professor of Commercial Music, Justin Delong. “This production was created in tandem with the students to bring a variety of styles and stories together to celebrate what makes each of us unique, while also highlighting what we share as members of the greater human family. Well-known songs and student-written works have been woven together with poetry to bring hope, light and love to our community.”

Tickets for the musical are $5 for adults or free for students with a student ID. Visit tiffin.edu/arts/tickets to purchase.
