James “Jim” Warfel, a 1967 graduate of Tiffin University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Administrative Management, has lived a life defined by servant leadership, professional excellence and an unwavering commitment to improving the lives of others. After graduating, Jim proudly served his country during the Vietnam War before building a successful career in pharmaceutical sales, where he earned a reputation as an innovative leader, mentor and trusted professional throughout decades of industry change and growth.
While achieving success in his career, Jim devoted countless hours to serving youth and strengthening his community. A longtime member and past president of the Optimist Club, he coached numerous youth sports teams, founded the TriBoro Area Coalition for Positive Community Services, organized community safety education programs and led Toys for Tots and Food for the Needy initiatives for more than two decades. Following his retirement to Florida, Jim continued his legacy of service by organizing an annual charity golf tournament that has raised more than $500,000 to support local hospice care, helping provide comfort and dignity to families during life’s most difficult moments.
Throughout every stage of his life, Jim has exemplified the values of leadership, compassion, and service instilled during his time at Tiffin University. His dedication to mentoring others, strengthening communities and putting people first has left a lasting impact on generations of families.
