Theresa “Terry” Nibblett, a 1984 graduate of Tiffin University with a degree in Business Administration, has dedicated her life to public service, leadership and giving back to her alma mater and community. While at Tiffin University, Terry was a member of the women’s volleyball and softball teams, participated in a faculty-mentored business initiative, volunteered in support of student activities and balanced her studies with full-time employment as a Tiffin Municipal Court bailiff. Her commitment to leadership was recognized upon graduation with the prestigious Koehl Student Leadership Award.
Following graduation, Terry served nearly three decades in federal law enforcement, holding leadership positions with the Internal Revenue Service, U.S. Customs Service, Immigration and Customs Enforcement and U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Her distinguished career included investigating complex international criminal cases, serving as a U.S. Customs Assistant Attaché in Bangkok, Thailand, managing international law enforcement programs and developing training curricula for foreign law enforcement agencies through the U.S. Department of State’s Anti-Terrorism Assistance Program. Throughout her career, she earned multiple national awards recognizing her outstanding contributions to public service.
Terry’s commitment to service continued long after her federal career. A proud U.S. Army veteran, she remains actively involved throughout the Tiffin community as a member of the Tiffin University Alumni Association Board, a dedicated volunteer in the Office of Alumni & Advancement, an original member of the LIFE@TU program and curriculum committee, a League of Women Voters program manager, Seneca County Board of Elections official, Red Cross blood donor and volunteer with numerous local organizations. Tiffin University is proud to recognize Terry Nibblett with the 2026 Alumni Service Award for her lifelong dedication to service, leadership and unwavering commitment to the University and the communities she has faithfully served.
